Welcome TLP as New Moderator

Featured Replies

Special thanks to TLP for being willing to help us with Moderation. He is a great guy and spends most of his time in Bangkok and the USA and Canada. I met with him when I was in Bangkok for dinner one night and had a great time. I have known him for a few years and though he rarely posts, he is always sending me PM's and e-mails about Thailand. Thanks for being will to help us TLP.

This comes at a perfect time as I will be away from computers for about a month and I know GayButton and Stef can use the assistance.

I know that TOQ is Tired Old Queen, but what about TLP?

I do not recall any reports from TLP but welcome aboard.

Does TLP stand for The Little Princess?

Could it be an acronym for Tons of Lice (Pubic) ? If so, see below...

Thailand's Like Paradise

We can always use help with moderation and good ones are hard to find. I have learned through past experiences that anonymity has it advantages. When a moderator is known and lives in Pattaya, they seem to get bombarded with so many comments from the gossip mafia that their heads spin. When the community doesn't k now who they are, that can't happen. GayButton is a fantastic moderator but I know he has had his fair share of critics both on the boards and in his personal life. He is able to separate the two. Many are not and they are often berated by their friends for decisions I make and that is not fair to them. If I make decisions that others don't agree with, they should berate me. I can take it. :) I simply smile and nod my head that I understand and then pick up a guy and go about my daily business. I don't let it eat away at me and ruin my time. That is not easy for those that live in Pattaya year round as it really is a small world. TLP is a great addition and I am thrilled to have him and Gaybutton as they really do enhance our community and make the site possible to continue.

You say 'had' as if it's a thing of the past. It goes on to this very day. The trick is not caring about what the critics think. If that bothered me I would have been gone from the boards years ago. I've said it many times: No matter what you do, somebody doesn't like what you do. So, I do things the way I think they ought to be done and pay very little attention to what somebody else thinks I ought to do or what they think of me. That's their problem, not mine. The only critic that concerns me is the one I see when I look in a mirror, and he can be the harshest critic of all.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I look forward to spending more time at my favorite site.
