New Concerns

Featured Replies

His Majesty failed to make his birthday address earlier today - the first time he has not done so during his long reign. The BBC quotes HRH Princes Sirindhorn as saying the King "has a blockage in his throat and a poor appetite" but added the condition "is not serious".

I hope that he is OK and stays in good health. I know many Thais look forward to his speech.

The news of a blockage in the throat and not eating is not good health. Rather ominous I would think.

I read in the International Herald Tribune today that the King had a throat infection. They also stated he has had two heart operations, one spinal operation and a small stroke. That was all news to me.

. . . and a small stroke

He was hospitalized in November last year for quite a few days. It was well reported and led to the fashion for pink shirts when he was photographed leaving hospital wearing a pink jacket.

Correction, two heart procedures. I guess that is a little different from an operation. Next time, I will cut and paste so that I will get it right.
