December 10 - Another Public Holiday - Bars Should Be Open

Featured Replies

Wednesday, December 10 is Thailand's Constitution Day holiday. It is a public holiday. The banks and government offices will be closed, but there should be no problem about the bars being open.

Thailand having a holiday to celebrate its constitution is about as apropos as Elizabeth Taylor having a holiday to celebrate monogamy. :p

Closing bar's for this sort of minor holiday is just daft in a country with an important but struggling tourist industry.

Dec 5th I can accept based on the significance, but not this one.

Relax, relax, nobody said that the bars will be closed. As every other year the bars will be open. Only govt-offices, banks and some companies will be closed.
