A Good Condo Deal If Staying For Less Than A Month

Featured Replies

There's lots of good monthly condo deals but it's not easy for the 2 week traveler to get a good deal.

The other day I stumbled across some great deals at the VCC Condo/MyView Condos, only 400 baht/day for an excellent 37 sq metre studio apartment. The swimming pool just opened and is big enough for lap swimming.

Electric and water are extra and there's a 400 final cleaning charge upon departure. Regular room cleaning, if desired, is extra.

These condos are on Soi 16 slightly past the Day/Night area.

Patrice, the rental agent, seems like a good guy.

Nothing is available from Dec 21st to Jan 15th though.

Patrice has his office at VCC Condo but also handles some rentals at Yensabai Condo and View Talay. Not sure if the prorated monthly rate applies to thes other properties.

If in Pattaya, one can just pop in to his office, if not, I've provided a link below.

PAT Realty

I first took a look about 7 months ago for monthly rentals, but the 12K price seemed high especially since at that time there was no pool. Still not great for a month, but the daily rate is about as good as it gets in Pattaya. B)

This is the first time I've seen anyone advertising a condo available for only two weeks. As far as I know, all the others require a minimum of a one month stay, or at least paying for a one month stay whether you stay that long or not.

I'm surprised that more condos aren't making two week or even one week offers, especially considering the major drop-off of tourists coming to Thailand. If I was the owner of rental property, it would make more sense to me to have someone renting for a week or two than for the place to be vacant, but maybe that goes hand-in-hand with the Thais and business sense thread.

Meanwhile, with the major construction boom that has been going on in Pattaya, I was wondering before where they think they're going to get buyers for all the new units going up all over town. Now I wonder even more. I don't think it's too far fetched to visualize Pattaya becoming a ghost town of empty units and unfinished construction sites.

I agree GB especially if the owner is hiring a realtor that handles multiple similar units and he's on premises as in this case. Though my real pet peeve is a hotel that won't prorate the monthly rate if you're staying let's say for 5 weeks and charges you the daily rate for the final week.

I assume that if you're staying for only a week or two next June, that they would accept your reservation but not for a specific unit. I only spoke to Patrice for about 10 minutes or so by calling or emailing him you can get all the info you need.
