December 20, 200817 yr I've read lots of recommendations for restaurants we farang enjoy. But, where do your Thai friends like to eat. My b/f does not enjoy farang food and would prefer to cook his own rather than endure an evening being presented with food he doesn't like and thinks is too expensive. How about some of you who have had better luck than me posting some recommendations that are hits with the Thai guys?
December 20, 200817 yr There's a Thai BBQ joint on Soi Kopai (and elsewhere)that the Thais seem to really enjoy. You cook your own food at the table, all u can eat for 99 baht which sometimes even includes ice cream. Drinks are extra, the BIG beers are cheap. So figure about 200 baht per person for food and drink and you will both be very happy. Even more fun in a group!
December 20, 200817 yr There is a small outdoor restaurant on Third Road right beside Cherry's and across the street from Xzyte.(Beside Mama Villa) I also really like the food. The lady that owns it really knows the difference between Thai taste and farang taste. So both you and your Thai friend should enjoy the food and the price.
December 20, 200817 yr Poe Pot in Sunee was a place that my boyfriend liked, because they have food for falangs, and good Thai food also...so everyone can get what they want to eat. The price is reasonable, and the food is pretty good...however, the last two times I was there the service was bad. Can't have everything. Also, my bf liked the Sizzler, where he got a pork steak, and then loaded up on the salad bar. More expensive, but a nice treat once in a while.
December 20, 200817 yr My bf likes (loves) to go to Noong (or Buondi) for their lasagna. I never argue about going there myself.
December 20, 200817 yr They all like Or Ah Harn (spelling?) On Pattay Tai near Center Condo. This is a seafood restaurant; there are three restaurants next to each other with fresh fish on ice in the front. Very, very reasonable. This is in Pattaya.
December 20, 200817 yr My BF like to eat at "NINJA Buffet" Sai 3 next to Soi 4, Pattaya North, 3rd Road. Here you can eat what you like for 129baht, if you like only fresh Seafood it's cost 200baht without drinks. The food is very good. The best at this place are the Boys / Man from Vietnam, Burma, Laos who work here as a waiter.
