One of his includes an account of the Stonewall riots. Interesting!

November 21, 20205 yr Active Members I am an avid reader of books. I looked forward very much to reading Shuggie Bain, but when I finally got the book, I found that it was mostly unreadable. It's very bleak reading.

Nothing about the style of his short story (I haven't read The Englishman) turned me off, it just wasn't a particularly captivating style like say Colm Toibin or Dennis Cooper.
