Does anyone know anything about the government plan to suspend visa fees for a period of time?

I heard it will be for 3 months in the first instance. Sorry I have no more detail than that.

Nobody has more detail than that. At this time the waiver is only a proposal. As soon as there is an official announcement it will be posted. In the meantime, you might want to call the Thai embassy or a Thai consulate in your home country for details. They will probably know before anyone else.

I first got an E-mail notice about this from Thaivisa earlier this week. They sent me a thread talking about this proposal, The next day, I believe, on the same thread, it was reported that whichever Thai tourism body had authority in this regards met and approved the suggested visa fee waivers - I think that was Wednesday of this week. I deleted the thread after reading it but I am sure I read that the measures were approved.
