"And now, the end is near..........."

After 5.5 years spending, learning, enjoying and suffering in Thailand, I've decided to head back to Holland.

The main reason is, that I still have to work until I'm 65 and that's for another 18 years. I could stay in Thailand and live happily on what I get now, but on a longer term it wouldn't be good enough to live on after my 65th.

Since Thailand is a better place for holiday-makers and retirees (in general), I decided to change my longstay position into a lot of short stay-position over the next 18 years.

Last week I got an offer I couldn't reject. If I did, I would be a thief of my own pocket. House, Job and Car are waiting for me, so on the 4th of Feb I'll be heading for Holland, powered by China Air.

So, ladies and gentlemen. I will be a member after all, but my posts/replies will be more from the point of view of someone who isn't living in the center of the activity anymore.

I learned a lot over the last years and I will absolutely never forget my impressions (pos and neg).

Good move Joseph!

I think that when we move to Thailand, part of the reason is we really need a break, especially from work. So now you've had a very long break, working might be fun for a while, and if not, you can always quit.

Timing is good too because if a worldwide depression, it's a good time to be employed.

Good luck!

You are young and it seems like you have a great opportunity ahead of you. I am sure you will be back again and retire in LOS when ready. Best of luck in your new job and keep us posted on your trips and adventures.

Joseph, is there still some action in Amsterdam to tide you over?

Joseph, is there still some action in Amsterdam to tide you over?

Not sure, but if you have plenty of Euros, you can find action anywhere.

Oh sure there will some action here and there. Discovered a nice bar in my area where they offer a special Sunday Evening Underwear-off party (????)

Have to find out what that implies........certainly no underwear.

If I'm allowed I will incidentally report on my "GayNederland" experiences.

I was never very involved in the Amsterdam gay scene........wasn't even aware of the existance of the bars mentioned.

To be honest, I am used to frequent more general venues, and less 'theme' bars.
