Favorite memory in Thailand

Featured Replies

I have many great memories from Thailand. Stepping off the plane to be greeted by the HOT temperature is always a wonderful blessing after a New York winter. Seeing a beautiful Wat for the first time still gets me excited. Kissing the BF after a prolonged absence still takes my breath away.

Perhaps my favorite memory in the LOS was my first trip to Phuket and the BF and I went on one of those boats and fed the fish with the bread from our hands. I loved it then and have been back many times since.

What is your favorite memory from Thailand?

Mine would be a party given by my bf's brother after I had hosted a dinner for the whole family (17 of them). It was a lovely time even though only by bf and his cousin speak English. We all sat on a veranda kind of thing hanging over a pond. His mother sat and peeled fruit for me. His younger brother caught fish from the pond while the older brother cooked them over a charcoal fire. After dinner they set up the karaoke and everybody sang. They all have good voices; my bf sang at weddings when he lived up in Udon. Then the kept after me to sing. I am tone deaf and only know one not which is between 2 others. Finally, I had to give in and sang. God!!! It was awful. They all listened politely, and then my bf said something and everyone laughed. I asked him what he said. He told them, "See, he knows English very well." I remind myself often, "only in Thailand".
