I want a George Forman Grill

Featured Replies

I have not been able to find this in Thailand.

A friend of mine was also looking for one and could never find one. He ended up having a friend bring one over from the USA. Fortunately he remembered he needed to get an electricity converter for it or he would have burnt it out as soon as he plugged it in and turned it on.

Have you tried the top floor at Paragon? If anyone would have it, they would, although I don't remember seeing one there. But if they don't, talk to one of the managers. Sometimes they know where to get a hard-to-find item. Maybe they can special order one for you.

You may try looking in Singapore same voltage as Thailand. I had one in South America so they do make them for 220V.

I have one that a friend brought to me from UK. I love it.

MAKRO have a special on at the moment not 2000 baht but 900 Baht where I live Near Bang Kapi Bangkok, rush there, you will wonder how you lived with out it, keeps all the flavor in and cooks, steaks and roast in 1/3 of the time.

Yummy when we all coming round for dinner :)

Have a look also on 5th floor of Emporium or Verasu on Wireless Road nearly opposite US Ambassador's residence. Verasu is the supplier of most of the kitchen appliance stuff in Paragon's upper floor. I bought an equivalent brand cheaply here a few years back from Emporium and still use it almost daily.

jtrack33 is right. I forgot all about Verasu. That's probably the best place of all.

Their web site is: http://www.verasu.com

Download and have a look at their mid-year catalog.

If you go to the bottom of the page and click on "Contact Us" and excellent map of their location comes up. If you click on the tabs just above the map, their other locations come up. There is also a Verasu in Phuket.

Well, I found one at the Emporium. It is not an official George Foreman but it looks close. They list it on their site as a sandwich maker. I'll give it a test run and see but the guy at the shop said it did same as George Forman grill. We'll see.

PS. I did try to order from Amazon.com and .uk but both said they did not ship that to Thailand. I tested every grill and they all said the same.

I just cooked some chicken in it and it worked perfectly. Not as easy to clear as the GF but fairly easy and the chicken was perfect.

I saw one there (the top floor) about a year ago...it was much nicer than the "George Foreman", and had several different attachments to do sandwiches, waffles, and steak. Look good but was pricy...don't remember the cost, just pricey.

For $69 you can get a Nikai Fat Reducing Food Grill NG545 For 220 Volts. Looks like a george foreman grill.

Just search 220 volt appliances. You will see several sources. May have to have someone coming to Thailand bring it for you.

It was 3400 baht. It works well and I had no way on earth to get a USA one into the country and then try to convert it and hope it would not burn down my apartment. So, I thought a good investment.
