In another thread Oogleman recommended I try Two Guys for my visit. I cannot argue it looks good value. Anyone like to either add to the thumbs up for Two Guys or give a negative viewpointbefore I make up my mind?

It's a budget accommodation. You get what you pay for. You're not going to get luxury hotel quality, but it's as good as you would expect a guesthouse to be. It's within easy walking distance to Sunee Plaza. I know several people who can easily afford luxurious accommodations, but prefer Two Guys.

 

For guest house quality, you're not going to find anything better, less expensive, or in a better location than Two Guys.

 

Howard's is also a good quality guest house accommodation, similar price range, and just as close to Sunee Plaza. That would be a good choice too. The major difference is, as I see it, Two Guys has a small restaurant. Howard's does not.

Howard's has a small restaurant. It is mostly used for room service but you can have breakfast or lunch in the lobby (in a town like this, packed to the gills with quality restaurants, nobody eats dinner in their hotel, even the Marriott). What they do not cook in their kitchen can be brought in from a nearby restaurant for you.

 

Also, Howards' owner, Panya, owns the best spa in town and will give you a heads up on the action there, as well as the action at his hotel which is visited by freelancers whom he knows. I stayed there for six weeks and had a great time.

 

Incidentally, when I made my reservations, I opted for the big room which was 1500 Bt at the time. When I told him how long I was going to stay, he dropped the price to 1300/day.

Two Guys is just fine for a guy like me but I have simple tastes.

 

Try to get a low floor since there is no lift and also better wifi reception if you bring your laptap.
