January 30, 201016 yr There are 2 things I really hate about a karaoke-bar: - the people who think that they are good singers and start singing louder after some booze - the surprise when it's 'check-bin' time; everything, and I mean really everything is charged for: ice, coke, soda, even if you buy a bottle of 100 Pipers with mixers.....

Of course you can buy individual drinks, but if you're going there with your Thai partner, you'll see that within 30 minutes the 2 of you are accompanied by: the DJ, the waiters, the wish-notes collectors, the doorman, the cashier and so, a bottle is better.

It's written nowhere, but it seems to be some kind of daft unwritten 'rule'; in a karaoke bar you always invite the staff who is serving you......of course there are 15 people around that suddenly are serving you.
