As I know now they are organized with adult men in the background. If they find customers then the adults will follow to the home of the customer and blackmail him, because the boys are below 18. And in bad times with no customers, they go to the homes of known farangs and ask for money. So with me on last Saturday. Two boys ring on the early morning. But I didn't open the door. Then they was climbing over the fence and went around the house, looking in every window. Then I heard they working on my bedroom window, trying to open it. July 18, 201016 yr an interesting discussion ...now 3 pages...regarding...Housebreaking by Sunnee Boys... I rarely read Thai Visa and this link reinforces why. It's incredibly rambling with a lot of posters spouting hot air and venting their own particular prejudices IMHO. But the basic subject matter - assuming it is fact - is yet another a wake-up call for anyone even thinking about taking off boys who might be remotely underage. It's also a concern for anyone who does in fact take boys of any age in to their homes and apartments unless there is good security in place. Caveat emptor, I guess.
July 18, 201016 yr How many more times does it need to be said? Check those IDs and make sure of the boy's age. If you don't, you could easily be the next scam victim.
July 18, 201016 yr A strange post. The main part of his article refers to a burglary & seems to have nothing to do with the opening sentence. Checking IDs is an obvious step, with the first issue. As for burglary, is he implying this has something to do with the "boys of Sunee"? Seems to be no evidence to suggest that at all. More importantly, presumably any farang living in Thailand would be presumed to be relatively wealthy and therefore a target for break ins. If living in an area with some level of crime, does the Farang have to surround his detached property with security fences & keep valuables in a safe? Or should he even restrict himself to an apartment, which should just require one secure entrance door? I don't wish to suggest Thailand has a higher level of crime than the UK, just that the farang might just stand out as an obvious target.
