Hello GT Members,

 

Recently there has been forum discussion about holding

Meet & Greet sessions in Pattaya.

 

In past years, the GayPattayan, our beloved Allen Briggs,

would hold a Meet & Greet for All...on the terraces of

Ambiance Hotel in Boyztown..the first Wednesday monthly at 3-5pm.

 

GP would post the meeting notice in his PG - Pattaya Gay Weekly Report...

and anyone in Pattaya was invited to attend - newbies and expats alike -

to meet among friends...and share their experiences and ask their questions

about visiting, exploring or living in Thailand.

 

Later on the Meet & Greet Sessions were hosted at the Thais4Life Bookstore

in Pattaya..again were held on the first Wednesdays of the month at 4-6pm.

 

Now, there appears to be interest again in holding NEW Meet & Greet

session and event opportunities in Pattaya...

and your ideas and suggestions are welcomed.

Sorry, won't likely be in Pattaya; however, should any of the clan be up in Chiangmai from the end of September to May, I'd consider buying a half a beer for at least some of you....

I'm glad we're going to keep this simple instead of making it complicated.

I didn't vote in the poll but gave an my suggestion of what would maybe work in the other thread. I would probably rotate the place each month to keep things fresh. I am not sure how many people join this site each month but seems if it is a recurring party it will get the usual suspects after awhile. So rotating the venue would make it more interesting if it is largely the same crowd each time with a few new people trickling in.

Then the first question of the poll should be: "Are you interested in a GT meet and greet?"

Now you may have the impression that 24 voters are interested in a M&G and will actually show up.

Why not have an option "Are you interested to have a meet and greet on Mars?

I'm always here. They won't let me out. I prefer Sunee beerbars if that helps.

I will be unable to attend. I am currently in Ubon, and probably won't be to Pattaya for several months...but if in the area, I would attend for sure.

Count me in, too. Corner bar might be an ideal venue as they have hosted several such get togethers in the past. I'd also suggest this "Meet and Greet" be a casual one where everyone buys their own drinks and snacks.

First it might be good to start another thread when GayThailand decides on the date.

 

Second, I suggest that RichLB buy the drinks...

Sunday or weekends were also popular..

as I think some may be coming from BKK and

outside Pattaya.

 

Wednesday was the most selected day...

 

Happy Hours Times of 6-8pm was best.

The time 6-8 has been a good time to meet in the past. There is a certain crowd that goes to Corner Bar each evening and that maybe why some suggest it.

 

As an alternative, the new Cafe Music (Cafe Royale) may work out. They need the business since they just re opened and maybe they would be interested on advertising on the new owners' of GayThailand site. If I am around Boystown in the next few days maybe I will ask them. I will ask for a discount on there drink prices for that time (maybe they have happy hour prices). And then report back here.

I am truly sorry for the confusion I might have caused. I misread Gay Thailand's post. I misread the part where he said next weekend. I all ready sent him a PM explaining that.

 

When I saw "next weekend" I thought he was saying the 21st or 22nd as in (he lives next door). Since I had not seen many confirming posts I thought that maybe he had dropped the idea. BUT I WAS MISTAKEN! After reading it againI should have understood that he was taking about a future weekend.

 

I have no intention of hosting a Meet and Greet. I was going to pass on information about Cafe Music to anyone that might want to hold one. So please understand that there will be no Meet and Greet on the 26th unless someone else hosts one. I am not going to ask David, the manager about it.

 

I will wait until GayThailand post as to where and when he will have a Meet and Greet. I have sent GT a PM to apologize for what some might have thought from my post.
