We are now getting our daily rain showers and fortunately a lot of it is during the night. Although I have sometimes had to stay in the bars late evenings... early mornings because the rain. This is another quiet season, mainly because of the economic climate andthe fracas in Bangkok causing many visitors to find other countries to visit. We have taken advantage of the quiet time to do some maintenance like fixing leaks, laying new tiles and re-grouting the tiles in the showers. The staff did most of the work they were quite surprised when I first told them I wanted the work done, but were quite happy to be kept occupied (and in a job) rather than them sitting around on their duffs all day staring into space. I had a customer in for early breakfast yesterday. He had just closed his bar (07.30) and was hungry so he stopped off at Two Guys for the # 1 breakfast with double everything. I sat at the table with him having my own breakfast and generally catching up on the gossip from Sunee. As I was chatting away to him he looked out onto the Soi and... suddenly went rigid, he had a look on his face like a greyhound dog that just caught a glimpse of a rabbit. I turned round to see what he was looking at and saw the son of the Thai Restaurant owner from over the street. Now this young man is 18 and severely handsome, about 5Ft 9
