September 17, 201016 yr I traveled from Bangkok to LA on Thai air a few days ago. There was extra security in place and the check was the longest that I have had in Bangkok. I assume that this was due to the issue on the same flight the week before. They were letting nothing through on the plane and every single person had a nice full pat down. The security through the Fast Track line was also a bit enhanced. They were also taking more precautions there. I have no problem with the extra security and always welcome more and know that safety is always better with a bit more security checks.
September 18, 201016 yr I've always noticed in Bangkok on flights going direct to Australia, they have an extra bag check/search at the gate. Everyone has to open their carry on bag. Sometimes it only takes 10 seconds, sometimes they spend a minute or two.

Sometimes it only takes 10 seconds, sometimes they spend a minute or two. They always have this for USA flights as well. But, this time there was a full pat down for everyone with double extra screening of bags.
