I don't know any places for certain but I've heard rumours of a nude or gay beach on Ko Samet. If you're with a group of friends who are open to nuding up you can charter a boat and have it take you out to some little private island where no one else is around. Alternatively, hire a suite at one of those hotels where you get your own little private pool... Otherwise, the Thais aren't really into nudity.

Perhaps not the ones you know. I know of one farang who would have 40 or 50 Thai guys in his pool all nude. They didn't seem to mind the nudity at all.

yes, some of BKKs 40+ gay sauna, sometimes, or on a weekly base, may have special nude nights-or more likely nude zones. Even then and there do not expect anyone to adhere to that. More annoying is, that they also may have small towel nights or underwear nights or whateevr is the current fade-once 1 starts, the whole bunch follows. This is usually on their Thai-only websites.

In Thaivisa forum (I think) there was a recently same question-from obvious str8s, and there was a link to a fairly new Thai naturist society, claiming to have 4or5 properties spread over the country. Google for thailand-naturist society-I am now too lazy for that.

And think: this is tropics, any white skinned farang gets burned as a barbecue within minutes by exposing areas where the sun never shines to it.

I believe most of these 40+ suanas in BKK are really thai for thai. I expect beachlover would get in being young and of Asian origin. Older and out of shape farang might also get through the door, but the pickings would be slim. Also hear that the younger crowd in such saunas still tend to use hands to cover their lower reaches rather than saunter about au naturel. Or at least that is what I have been told.

we intentionally select resorts that are isolated from other public areas in respect for those people in the Thai society who feel that clothes free recreation is undesirable. We try our best to keep out of their sight and try to prevent them from incidentally straying unto the property, we have rented.

Naturist Association Thailand Co., Ltd. may well be considered quite conservative compared to the more liberal ways in which nudism as practiced in some places in Europe and the United States. Funny... When I went to a nude night for a sauna in Sydney everyone just walked around nude without hands covering etc. Then I went to a nude night for a sauna in Singapore and everyone covers their parts with their hands. Shy LOL.

I think PeterFS's saying they (anyone) WOULD get through the door. i.e. No problem getting in if you are older or unattractive.

Thanks Beachlover. That's what I meant. You might get in the door, but chances are you won't have much success once inside. Unless, of course, you are in possession of an extra special piece of equipment. Beachlover will be far too young to remember Australia's greatest ballet dancer, Robert Helpmann. Gay and proud of it, he always said he never liked the idea of nude dance performances because "when the music stops, part of the male anatomy doesn't."

Heh... no, never heard of Robert Helpmann. But I have heard of Li Cuncin, a Chinese ballet dancer (not gay) who defected to the US. He has an amazing story, coming from a truly dirt poor village in China.

 

He's now a Senior Stockbroker in Melbourne and has a family. I met him a few years ago. Earlier this year, I was amazed to find his story had been turned into a feature film, "Mao's Last Dancer" based on his autobiography.

 

It's an excellent movie. I highly highly recommend it. Very inspirational and touching. Not many things can make me shed a tear, but a few bits of this film almost did.

 

My favourite bit is when he is re-united with "Teacher Chan" at the end. The cast of actors is excellent, especially the Asian actors chosen to play the roles of Cuncin's parents and teachers.
