I love the hair salon at The Avenue in Pattaya. Hair cut, shave, manicure and pedicure for 1,000 baht. 2 1/2 hours of sheer heaven.

I love getting a scrub and a nice strong massage. Sometimes a body wrap too. Feels good.

 

Never had a manicure or pedicure though. I think I would find it weird. All that attention on just my nails? Maybe I'll try a facial next time. That might be fun.

Facials are fun. But, you are not really allowed into the gay society until you have had a full mani and pedi.

Does the hair salon have a name? There are several hair salons at the Avenue. Are you talking about the one on the ground floor just before the entrance to Villa Market?

When I was younger and sported a luxurious head of hair, getting it shampooed, cut and blown dry was a really pleasant hour or so. I thought it made me look good, so I felt great too.

 

Now I'm a bit thinner on top I agree with z, get it over with tout suite. The shampoo and blow dry component went for a burton many moons ago.

It does have a name but I always forget. It is on the 3rd Floor right across from the movie ticket purchase office. When you get to that floor off the escalators, you are facing it. There is one fem guy that works there (taller than the 2nd guy) and he is amazing at cuts and shaves. I always go to him.

I've always wanted haircuts done as fast as possible. Ideally for about 60 baht, when in Asia. To avoid the disaster of receiving a generic middle aged Thai haircut, there should be some photos in the window with a style similar to the one I want to achieve.

Spotted this cute guy lying on a motorcycle in the street and his "do you want a haircut" sales pitch closed the deal. Not the best haircut I've ever had, but easily the cutest barber. Got to get the priorities right.

I think a decent haircut's important. It makes a difference to your appearance. You should either go to a good hairdresser (pay a bit more) or know how to brief a cheaper hairdresser to do it right (see GT? I am gay!).

 

I tend to want to be out of there quickly too, but not at the expense of a good cut. In any case, it's nice having that time to myself. Getting a massage or a haircut is pretty much the only time when I can sort of meditate and day dream, without people to talk to, work to do, internet to browse, phone calls or e-mails piling up... peaceful!

Really, I guess my German heritage gets in my way. I have never been one to pamper myself. I usually save my pampering for my BF. Cut my hair and let me out of here, I enjoy meeting the world as I am.

I went from 2 1/2 hours to 2 hours 40 minutes with the boy? You give me more credit that I deserve. I could do that boy (with the pampering) in 2 hours 35 minutes and still have time to shower and put my clothes on.

I usually save my pampering for my BF.

 

I know what you mean KhorTose, but my fist reading of your comment was your bf funded his trips to the salon courtesy of you.
