Global Entry Program/USA Residents

Featured Replies

I recall that there was an earlier discussion on the USA Global Entry Program; this is an update. For those not familiar with this program it is a "easy pass" to go thru Immigration and Customs when returning to the USA. Cost about $100 and can be applied for on-line but must appear in person at Immigration at major airport in USA for final clearance. Straightforward except the on-line application process is cumbersome and confusing at times.

On my return to the US, two 747s coughed up about 700 passengers all rushing to get in line and cleared thru Immigration. But there was no one at the kiosk for Global Entry and only one crew member in that line. It took about 2 or 3 minutes to get through but had to wait 15 minutes or more for the luggage. Then there is another Global Entry line at Customs also with no one in it. So that took another 30 seconds. A no questions asked process except a check of Passport at Customs. Well worth the it. You can google Global Entry for more info.

Agree. It is a great program and quite worthwhile.

I rarely check luggage, so I can get through the entire entry process in about 3 minutes. Really worth it when there is a tight connection to another flight.

For US citizens that travel internationally with any frequency, definitely worth checking it out.
