6 baht per kilowatt

Featured Replies

I had been looking at an apartment in LOS and it is a serviced building. But, the electricity is 6 baht per kilowatt. Is this expensive? Normal?

I don't need a place until the end of the year but if I found what I wanted, I'll reserve it. I just thought this was a bit high.

The residential rate is roughly 4 baht.

It is typical for serviced apartments to charge 6 baht. That doesn't sound too bad, but it's worse than it seems because management may be getting the commercial rate, which can be a low as 1 baht per kwh.

It's also common to charge 500 baht a month as a flat rate for water, even though the actual cost is usually less than 100 baht per person.

Anyway, nothing to be done about it. Just think of the surcharge as part of the rent.

What mahjongguy is correct for many, but it is not true at all places. Some charge 4 baht per kil for electricity and as little as 200 for water.

Physically correct, it is kilowatt hour (abbreviated as kWh).

4 is a great rate as many places charge 7. Not a big deal for me as while sleeping I use the padlohm.

Water tends to run about 35 baht per unit. I stayed at aplace that had a flat rate of 350.
