The US Transportation Secretary has announced new rules instructing airlines to provide increased compensation when travellers experience lengthy delays on runways, are bumped from their flight or when their bags are lost.

 

Airlines will also have to disclose fees which are presently hidden within the ticket price.

 

From August, maximum compensation for bumped passengers will double
