I thought it was a joke when I heard it, but according to the gay's no. magazine THE ADVOCATE in the USA, the midwestern city of Minneapolis gets the title this year. Of course this research is not done scientifically but is based on some criteria. Read:

 

MINNEAPOLIS -- Move over, San Francisco. Minneapolis is number one, at least in the eyes of a writer for The Advocate magazine, who has proclaimed that the Mini-Apple is now the gayest city in America.

 

Using what he calls a completely unscientific - but still strangely accurate - statistical equation, Advocate writer Mike Albo has delivered a list of where gay people are creating a sense of community.

 

Albo used a handful of criteria as a measuring stick, comparing major cities by the number of registered gay.com profiles, openly gay elected officials, number of gay and lesbian bars, and lastly, the number and frequency of Tegan and Sarah performances (that one feels tongue-in-cheek).

 

My personal feeling another reason why Minneapolis has so many gays is that it is surrounded with small rural farm communities where a gay has no room to breathe; thus moves to Mnn. Good "squeaky clean stock" there!

 

-Minneapolis is no longer the blond hair blue eye haven but in the last 20 years has a whole array of various immigrants - Mongs,Somalians,Hispanics... it is truly an international city. Also,(according to Men's Fitness Magazine), it is considered one of the most fit cities in the USA due to people taking advantage of winter sports and the bike and jogging trails.

I like blond boys from Minneapolis but I have not spent a great deal of time there.

haha. I guess you are right. Even in Thailand, when I see a Thai boy who has dyed blond hair, I get turned on.

 

I think the blond crush goes back to my many trips to Montreal where I had so many blond boys I can't even count.

MPLS is a very gay city. I grew up there but agree nowhere on earth can out gay WEHO. Whether that is a good or bad thing is rather unclear to me, I hate WEHO.
