July 10, 201115 yr It is always fun to go back to Pattaya for an evening now that I am staying in Bangkok for a bit. The boys and I decided to go there yesterday for the evening to do some shopping, eat and go to a birthday bash at Nice Boys. I promised the BF a new cell phone for his birthday and I only buy my cell phones from New Wave in Tuk Com shopping center. The reason is I have a good relationship with them and I know should anything happen to the phone, they will stand behind it. Having purchased far more phones in Thailand than I can count, I feel that the extra ride to Pattaya is worth it for me to get good service, good prices and guaranteed support. After that we went to Mr. Z's Salt and Pepper restaurant. The food there is great and the prices are reasonable. The service is always great and I just love the entire experience. When the boys and I headed there yesterday, I asked them where they wanted to eat and all of us were unanimous, Salt and Pepper in Day Night 2. For those that visit Pattaya, this place is a must visit for everyday fast service served with a smile. The party as Nice Boys was fun and enjoyable. I always like a party and Beer's parties are always fun. The boys had at least 5 beers there and then another beer from one more bar. So, on the way back to Bangkok, a few stops were necessary for them to relieve their need to pee. All in all, a great evening spent with good friends and good company!
July 10, 201115 yr When I stay at Mosaik, I always eat at Mr. Z's. The food is plain, simple and cheap. My bf likes their cake, and I know of a certain poster (above) who adores their chocolate sundaes. It is a good place for meeting other farang and chatting. The view of passing Thai boys from that corner is also quite a treat. The place is popular and always busy. Mr. Z is always there it seems, and sometimes will wait on you personally. S&P is the closest I've found to diner food that I've found yet in Thailand, and it seems to appeal to many, including the bf, who is very fussy! I haver to agree with Michael, here's one more thumbs up for S&P.

I haver to agree with Michael, here's one more thumbs up for S&P. For whatever reason, the bf likes the farang and Russian style food at S&P. The closest to diner food says it all; however many non-American posters may not be aware of diner food. Actually many Americans never have been exposed to diners as they are more regional in location. But for good eats try Kokopelli.

July 10, 201115 yr this is the S&P right next to the old Flamingo right? If it is yes I can only fully agree with all who have posted. Have used it for years, bf find the Thai food agreeable and that is usually the measure required to know if a restaurant is good enough for us. I usually eat Thai there but the couple of times I had pork steak it was delicious. I was always confused with the fact that there is a Salt and Pepper sign next to the laundry units further along the side soi and never saw a Salt & Pepper sign at the place we know as S&P, unless I just have not noticed it.

July 11, 201115 yr Author I was always confused with the fact that there is a Salt and Pepper sign next to the laundry units further along the side soi and never saw a Salt & Pepper sign at the place we know as S&P, unless I just have not noticed it. Yeah, there was a couple that tried to name the business Salt and Pepper and get Mr. Z's customers. It didn't work. I thought it was in such poor taste, I never went into the place.
July 16, 201115 yr Yes I agree Salt and Pepper is ok, but not the best far from it, if you want the very best all round Mom and Pop restaurant at the right price, try Maggs and the best part is, they are on the move to much bigger enclosed Restauant further up threprassit road, with Air Con. My favorite Saturday special - Chicken breast stuffed with sage and onion, Roast potatoes and Seasonal vegetable 165 Baht. Draft beer 40 Baht.- Friday night is Cocktail night. Contact details Tel 038 251236 : Mobile 081 1534773 Maggs Wine Bar and Restaurant is situated only 5 minute walk from Jomtien and Dongtang Beach. Situated on Thepprasit road jomtien 50 meters from the Thappraya Road Junction. Heading from Thappraya Road, Maggs is situated on the left hand side. The restaurant is ideal for any resident living in View Talay 1, View Talay 2, View Talay 5 and Royal Park Village as it is within minutes walk to the restaurant. the menu is pretty good with some nice high end meals listed, but I only wanted breakfast. 2 toast with butter and jam, orange juice, coffee, 2 eggs how want them, a fried tomato and 2 slices of bacon for 105baht, not as good a deal as Simple Simons but the place is a lot nicer done out, nice big red blocks, arty type stuff on display, nice furnishings and all that sort of stuff, actually last time I went there was a couple of years ago and they were doing gin and tonics for 40baht so probably a good place to get pissed as well __________________ The restaurant opens twice daily. Morning serving full English breakfasts, cereals etc. Opening hours 8:30am - 2pm : 6pm - 10pm Monday - Saturday Closed all day Sunday
