Old Man Thinking...

Featured Replies

For my 100th post, I guess I should write something worthy...lol...at least to me.

Last week I returned to the States from Pattaya. To me it is pretty much the same. I love it as much as I did about 20 years ago when I first came.

It is not as clean, too many condos have sprung up in this time, potholes are much more common in the streets. Where an old surf shop used to be on the gay beach is now the home of a large resort. The vendors look the same, selling the same stuff as usual. There are bars all over with the same looking guys...most who do not dance like my first bf who found me at Gentlemen's Club years ago.

The Cafe Royale was a little dive called Best Guest House. The Ambiance was home of some small shops and there was artwork for sale all over the store fronts. One of my first pics in Pattaya was holding a large snake in front of the "Best Guest" by one of the boys who rented it.

The elephants had a better life then (I guess) and were all over the place. Not as many cars and at five pm they would take over the beach.

But I love the place and look forward to my next trip. And I will again say what I had printed in Pattaya Mail years ago and occasionally have said on some of the forums when the farang start bitching too much: "If you don't like it, go back home where it is so perfect!"
