RockyRoadTravel Posted August 6 Posted August 6 The Mad King has been talking about this for a while now. His takeover of the City of Washington D.C. His own feudal fiefdom. Maybe it's just easier to rename things if there's no elected government. The Mad King does hate representative democracy. Is he going to call it Washington D.D. - District of Donald. (In 2008, in hindsight, the Obama administration should have granted it Statehood - finally taxation with representation.) 25th Amendment for the Mad King. stevenkesslar 1 Quote
Members Pete1111 Posted August 7 Members Posted August 7 The Dems could help save representative democracy from the Mad King of DC by gerrymandering all the blue states now instead of blathering on about it. Yeah, gerrymandering sounds anti-democratic, but the longer the Dems stand pat, the worse are the prospects for stopping the Mad King of DC fascist train. Are these MoveOn.org events happening now with Jasmine Crockett and others going to make a difference? Yeah, they seem exciting, when Crockett calls Trump a POS, and says the Supreme Court is corrupt, but I doubt if the low-information voters are watching or care much. There is another event tonight in Tejas, and others coming in Omaha, etc. You can stream these or watch video clips on Meidas Touch. https://www.mobilize.us/moveon/ But, even with a better message, I'm still not confident the Dems know how to consistently win elections. Isn't their strategy to wait around for voters to figure out the Dems are the good guys? Wake the fuck up. The GOP has been beating that strategy for a long time. So, IMO we may need to brace ourselves and learn how to endure what the GOP is doing to us. Sorry to say it, but maybe we should get used to grabbing our ankles and hope the pounding isn't too painful. RockyRoadTravel and Ruthrieston 2 Quote

What Dems need to do is figure out how to win in red states again. Without that, there really is no need for a Democratic agenda. Because Democrats won't have the votes in the Senate. Even assuming they can cobble together the minimum necessary electoral votes. The idea that more progressive Democrats can co-exist with more conservative Democrats is so ........................... well, Democratic. Several generations of older Democrats knew what it was like to have to co-exist with Southern Democrats like George Wallace. If we could do that, surely we can co-exist with Andy Beshear or Laura Kelly. That said, I'm up for what Gavin Newsom and the other Dem Guvs plan to do with gerrymandering as a Band Aid, if Texas moves forward. As @RockyRoadTravel keeps saying, Trump only fears and respects people who look him in the eyes and say, "Fuck you, you fucking raping lying maybe pedophile fucking fuck." Or something like that. I liked how when Pete Buttigieg ran for the Democratic nomination he referred to Trump as the pornstar President. Democrats do need a more aggressive, clever, hard hitting narrative that challenges voter opinion of the GOP. Funny, I brought up Buttigieg in another Internet group, this week. That generated the response that Buttigieg is bad dude for trashing trans people. Maybe that's what got me in a pessimistic mood. Buttigieg never trashed trans people. He merely stated his strategy that deciding whether trans athletes should compete in sports is an ethics question, not a political one. In other words, how can sports bodies preserve meaningful and fair competition? Other libs canceled Pete when he ran for President, for various reasons. I get it. People have strong opinions and refuse to cede their ground. But that is how we ended up with 45, IMO. Libtards were convinced Hillary was too evil. So be it. Just be prepared for what you have wrought. So yeah, I'm in a pessimistic mood, hearing how easily the libtards falsely claim Buttigieg has trashed trans people, just because he doesn't fall in line and parrot what is the woke narrative. You guys appropriately remind how important it is that people continually call out Trump for the slimy POS he is. But will any of that matter if the Dems fail to win votes? It seems America has already shown their hand on that. They will vote for a convicted felon and adjudicated rapist over a Dem. A Red state like Iowa voted for Obama twice but then experienced a political shift, likely due to resentment. Maybe part of that is how voters saw a significant loss in jobs and wealth during the 2008 financial crisis, while banks and corporations were bailed out. Is it any surprise how the GOP plugs into that, always referring to East Coast elites? @stevenkesslar you make a good point, how Dems need to win in Red states. Iowa may be in position to begin shifting back. 2026 might tell the tale. stevenkesslar 1 Quote
RockyRoadTravel Posted August 8 Author Posted August 8 Washington DC had it's lowest reported level of crime in 30 years in 2024. When Trumpty Dumpty calls out the National Guard, or the Marines, it'll be about culling protesters and preventing demonstrations by American citizens, it won't be because of crime. The bully needs to be called out and confronted. stevenkesslar and lookin 2 Quote

RockyRoadTravel Posted August 12 Author Posted August 12 Trump may be incompetent on the economy and meeting the needs of Americans, but he's finely tuned about meeting his own needs. If he controlled Washington DC in 2020, the way he wants to control it now. The Washington DC police department would have never showed up to the Capitol and intervened in his coup attempt. Is he planning another coup? We best be prepared and start making plans. lookin 1 Quote

With each WIN Trump gets, for every person that gets on their knees to comply with his demands, for every Law he is able to break WITHOUT accountability, for Every LIE he tells that becomes "gospel", Trump grows stronger, meaner and more determined to "HAVE IT ALL"..... And Americans seem to have NO choice but to let him.... The ultimate will be Trump standing on the White House balcony, arms spread wide ala Eva Peron and singing YMCA, as all his subjects CHEER ! Yeah, Trump wants us all to Watch the military in our communities, and NOT him "picking our pockets"..... This is all a SHOW and distraction from the revelation of the American Dictator being a PEDO...... He may be a PEDO, but wants you to know he is a Strong Pedo..... Trump has created EVERY bad situation in America, and crafted the narrative around it, so that he can say HE is the only person STRONG enough and willing enough to FIX it His military are responding to a "nothing burger", and have been tasked to stand around and "look" powerful and menacing..... Its the Trump Illusion. RockyRoadTravel and stevenkesslar 2 Quote
Members Suckrates Posted August 12 Members Posted August 12 Its ALL about color, RED & BLUE..... If DC were a RED state, you wouldnt see armed military on its streets.... Trump claims he is "making America GREAT Again", but Great countries DONT need armed military patrolling their communities. Then you have the FACTS: RED states have the HIGHEST poverty RED states have to lowest LITERACY RED states receive the greatest financial Federal aid and assistance... BUT its the BLUE states only that need ARMED military on its streets, but the RED states are PERFECT the way they are with PERFECT Republican leadership. Trump is simply creating a narrative WITH pictures that BLUE states are crime ridden Hell Holes (without any proof), but its just a game he's playing with citizens, because he believes he can CONVINCE them of anything, and he needs them to believe their lives are unsafe. All this because DOGE lacky "Big Balls" was carjacked and beaten did he see his opportunity to CREATE this fantasy story of crime.... Trump is NOT tough on crime, he is tough on his Enemies, and he views Dem leadership as his ENEMIES, so this is all a performative sham, because in reality there is equal amounts of crime in Republican led states. Let's pause on this Fraud, and get back to Epstein and Trump being a PEDO ! 👍 stevenkesslar 1 Quote

I don't think that's what it's about. I think it's about the Incompetent-in-Chief having complete military and policing control around the Capitol for his next coup attempt. If there's people on here who support Trump that's fine, and be honest that you don't give a shit about the Constitution, the rule of law, democracy, or the American working-class - white, brown or black. THIS time, our govt is saturated with Trump loyalists that are supporting and helping him with his Dictator fantasy and agenda. The first time govt officials in high places "pushed back".... Trump has trashed all those people so there is no one left to say NO to hi about anything..... He fabricates false narratives, releases fake data, and sucks the dicks of Putin and Bibi...... all the while telling the American people he is doing it for them to Make America Great and Golden. Yet I dare any American to step up and tell us how there life has gotten better since Trump took office again in January, WITHOUT repeating Trumps talking points..... Take away Trumps "talking points" and you got NUTHIN ! Quote
