It is true.  There is a certain sadness to it.  His own mother liked Joe Biden.  And now it has come to this.

That said, we have to remember that @Barknaway is good and loyal and true.  He cares about one thing:  being loyal to his Master and King.  There is something to be said for that.  He barks and barks and barks.  And it is all about his deep need to be good and loyal and true.

The SCARY part is that TOO MANY people are still supporting Trump, want and applaud his Authoritarian type of govt, and believe its all about PUNISHING the Libs.  But if you ask them what THEY are actually getting out of Trumps dictator leanings, they have NO answer other than "he's doing what he said he would do"    That still dont answer the question "how is he helping you".     Do any of these assholes think that for every immigrant throws out of the country, THEY have a chance at a better job, better housing and more riches ?      Its all just propaganda, that Trump successfully made them believe, and until they realize its all bullshit, their support of him will be unwaivering.   And THATS a problem.  

Being Flawed is normal and OK....  Being DELUSIONAL and living in LIES is NOT, and will continue to be a danger to this country and its democracy.    You can withstand a "barking dog",  but a "pack of barking dogs" can be deadly.

I'd separate three groups.

1.  The rich.  Trump has helped them.  The core of his political support is Gen X.  And those people have stuck with him for a decade.  They were kids when Reagan was President.  And they think conservatism works.  Economic growth.  Win the Cold War.  That kind of stuff.  John Meacham did some interview recently where he joked that this is the country club crowd.  They are well off.   Meacham wonders why even the country club crowd would want a POTUS who shatters alliances and violates every norm we are used to.  But he lives in the same state as my rich nephew, who doesn't mind lower taxes.  And who thinks if they really fuck with us we can just nuke em.

2.  The working class.  As far as I can tell, these people have stuck with Trump for a decade.  And what they got from it is a good question.  Are these old factory towns that got gutted when W was President back to life now?  No.  I think one answer is they do get their culture war victories.  Harris was for us/them, and Trump is for us.  And abortion.  And getting rid of the illegals.  And the Gays who want to chop our sons' dicks off.  Oh, and do people not realize the BIGGEST FUCKING THREAT IN AMERICA TODAY IS THE MUSLIMS?  Way worse than the socialist fake Jews in Minnesota, frankly.

3.  The Zoomers.  I think it is true that if Zoomers had voted the way "youth" did in 2020, Harris would be President today.  They were pissed about a lot of things.  And some of that was cultural - like "toxic masculinity."  But they were the most pissed about prices, and rent, and the cost of a big ass truck.  So they bought Trump's lies and promises.  And if the GOP pollsters are right, Zoomers are fleeing the Trump tent in droves.

 

Personally, I can live with same sex marriage and some barking dogs.  But I gotta admit thinking about Sharia law and Western civilization keeps me awake at night.  🫢

And, yeah, it is ironic.  Beating the shit out of cops at the US Capitol to try to steal an election is okay.  But a Muslim community center in Texas?  No fucking way!
