Members Suckrates Posted 2 hours ago Members Posted 2 hours ago This is an excerpt from an important Op-ed by Michael Tomasky of The Republic, a must read before viewing Trumps actual delusional "fantasy" of the State of the Union tonight.... "But there’s another emotional current that courses through the bloodstreams of the majority—and yes, it is a majority—that dislikes and disapproves of Trump. It isn’t discussed as much as rage, because it doesn’t get as many clicks and perhaps isn’t thought to change as many minds. But it’s still important that we note it and give it its due. It is sadness. Many millions of Americans are absolutely heartbroken at what Trump and his menagerie of moral misfits are doing to our country. We cannot believe the things being done in our name, and we are sick over it". (this point about the disapproval of Trump and his agenda being the majority of Americans, and not simply the "Lunatic Left" as Trump likes to claim is particularly striking) Remembering that WE are the majority is of utmost importance NOW ! * Please read the ENTIRE article which makes many salient points, and tells obvious "truths" about the Trump regime... https://newrepublic.com/article/206888/trump-state-union-failure-economy stevenkesslar 1 Quote

It isn’t discussed as much as rage ... It is sadness. I'll add a second level to the sadness. During Trump 1.0, I had to be careful what I said around friends and family who supported Trump. I didn't worry much about what I said around family members who think like me. That Trump is America's piece of shit. In fact, two of my brothers I'm closest to are definitely more moderate than me. One is what I call a Bloomberg Democrat, another is a McCain Republican. They would both go into rants about how much they despised Trump. One, the Republican, got kicked off his rural neighbor's lawn just for saying he'd be voting for Biden in 2020. I thought it was funny. I was no longer the crazy left winger. In Trump 2.0, that has all changed. And it is because of the sadness and disbelief. Most of my family is Democratic. And mostly they feel, how could we have elected this piece of shit again? And why waste energy talking about it? It sucks, but he won. I find that sad. The whole fucking thing is sad. And it is sad that talking about it with the people I love the most just creates a bad vibe. The good news is there are plenty of people who are really angry and willing to act. Kicking ICE out of Minneapolis, which basically did tell the cruel bully to go fuck himself, is a recent example. That's powerful. Every time some leader or nation anywhere in the world tells Trump to go fuck himself, or tells America it is out of line, I am happy. And in the long run there is some good that will come out of that, I think. Nobody deserves to be a bully. In the end the sadness is even more powerful than the rage. Sadness and rage are two sides of the same coin. As soon as they have the opportunity to sweep this piece of shit out of the way, and his legacy, people who are sad will. They may not want to go protest in the street. But they will vote, and we'll cleanse the Trump shit stain away as best we can. Quote
