For those going to Bangkok, the Intercon in Bangkok and the Crown Plaza are both great hotels as is the Holiday Inn. They are 40 percent off and free breakfast and Internet. Great deal.

Seems like every major chain is discounting heavily just now. In the last 30 minutes, I got an email from Starwood with 50% offers in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Hua Hin and Pattaya in Thailand, as well as some properties in Cambodia and Vietnam. Just the other day, there was a Marriott offer in the region for 3 days for the price of 2 in many properties. All the deals have conditions and limitations, but it's worth checking directly with hotels before you book on one of the regular booking engine websites.
