I'm a 19 year old norwegian guy that will be visiting thailand for 4 months, september - december. Have been thinking of earning some extra by doing some freelancing in Pattaya, but is there really a market for that with all thai guys available? Where would be the best place to pick up a "customer"?

Thailand is always open to good talent. The best place is to post photos on this site, gay romeo and other sites where people can see you. Do it in advance so that everyone can make plans.

 

I have hired many foreigners over the years in LOS and love it. There is a market for that with some farang as well as some Thai men. Many of the guys in Pattaya are "rice queens" but that is not true for all.

If you were working in Norway, what kind of renumeration were you expecting in Pattaya? it will probably be much lower than you were making in Europe, and that could be very discouraging for you. The going rate is 15,000 baht for an overnight off in Pattaya and (at the present exchange rate) is only $47.62(US). Some may pay a little more, some won't pay that much at all. Being Norwegian might be a plus, but that is hard to gauge. Do not have high expectations. That said, this may be a big factor for you in deciding if there is a market for your services. You might have better luck in Bangkok.

Oops ! Either Khun Thaiworthy has suddenly become very wealthy or has just made a typing error, because he means Bt.1,500. Mind you, that is for a Thai guy. A young, fit Norwegian may be regarded as quite exotic in Pattaya and be able to charge a bit more.

I expect the earnings of a European working in Pattaya would be very similar to those of a Thai. The number of people prepared to pay a premium for something different is likely to be very small indeed.

This crossed my mind too, however I prefer to see how things pan out over several posts before jumping to conclusions.

Yeahsper says he's 19 and that's a nice age to be so let's not get too jealous here!

 

If I was 19 with a wanderlust looking to go backpacking for a few months, I almost certainly wouldn't do this (i.e. prostitute myself) myself, but cannot criticise another for contemplating it.

 

Even if the poster is a troll, it's a legitimate topic for discussion IMO.

Trolling did not cross my mind. I take things pretty much at face value, and if that makes me appear vulnerable or at the worst, naive, then so be it. I agree with Rogie. Since we are all basically anonymous anyway, I don't see how it makes much difference, especially since there seems to be no malicious intent. Legit discussion, even if the OP isn't, so I don't care either way.
