The Nation has news of a special all-inclusive return fare of Bt. 3,390 between Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Flights are said to be available from December 1 to February 28 and must be booked on or before November 16.

 

The fare is slightly higher than lowest fares of the low cost airlines, but permits more luggage and flights depart from Suvarnabhumi.

 

One problem, though, is I cannot find this fare on the Bangkok Air website where the lowest fare is quoted is a less restricted on at Bt. 4,300 round trip. Does anyone have more information?

I just tried it too and came up with the same figure (4,300 baht) that you did. And notice that most of the "web promotion" flights are already sold out! If you don't mind going out of DMK, Air Asia has a 3,500 baht price.

 

Just noticed on the "promotions" section of Bangkok Airways website that the promotion they list for BKK/CNX plainly lists the promotion round trip as 4,300 baht. And....adds the following:
