November 5, 201213 yr Tonight my electricity went out for only about 30 min. But, for me, that was an eternity sitting in the dark. I could not find the flashlight or anything else. The electricity going out in India was almost daily even in great hotels. But, now that I am a bit more settled, I am curious what others keep for their places in case of necessity. For sure items that I need to pick up and keep on hand: 1. Candles 2. Internet Sim Card that is fully loaded with money 3. Flashlight 4. Matches 5. Water 6. Cards to play poker with Anyone else have suggestions?
November 5, 201213 yr I have an LED lamp that I got from a street guy in Sunee. Works fine. I assumed the electric went out because you were fooling with your speakers
November 5, 201213 yr In case of longer cuts, a couple of bags of ice in the freezer helps keep food frozen.

A boy scout, you surely ain't. Given your obvious superlative ability to handle even the most minor of crises, I'd recommend you either get rid of the candles or get yourself a couple of really good fire extinguishers and an assistant who can figure out how to work them!
November 6, 201213 yr I keep flashlights around the house but I have three battery lights that go on when the power is out, and just charge the rest of the time. In the states, I always kept a Dietz Lantern in the house. They provide great light and burn a combustible oil, that is a low fire risk.
November 6, 201213 yr My list is almost the same as Michael's. Basic necessities that I need to pick up and keep in hand: 1. Condoms 2. Candles (for romantic ambiance). 3. Flashlight (to see when putting the condoms on). 4. Water (for clean-up after sex). 5. Matches (for bf to light up cigarette after sex).
November 6, 201213 yr Basic necessities that I need to pick up and keep in hand: 1. Condoms I first read that as "keep on hand". I wondered where you got such large condoms!
November 6, 201213 yr Author 3. Flashlight (to see when putting the condoms on). Great list TW. Question: Doesn't turning on the flashlight after foreplay and when you are going to get the condom on spoil the mood?
November 6, 201213 yr Khun TW may just be being modest, methinks. There may be a lot more you can do with a torch which, of course, has a battery therein and could be modified - to provide a certain kind of stimulus, perhaps? Oh, is there no end to mankind's ingenuity!

November 6, 201213 yr Haven't you chaps heard of glow-in-the-dark condoms? Very convenient. Do suggest the importance of having a back up power supply for your computer in case of power outage. Also some sort of back up for charging cell phones which sometimes can be charged via USP port on a computer if the computer has back up.. The coffee shops back here were packed with customers charging their devices since no power at their homes after Hurricane Sandy.
