Don't Mess Around and Feed the Ducks

Featured Replies

Do Thai households typically have safes? I would think a simple hiding place would do, but then how will you slice your cucumbers?

I am reminded of Lorena Bobbitt, who cut off her husband from his manhood nearly 20 years ago.

I remember driving with his severed penis in my hand, and in my other hand I had the knife. I didn't even know how I got into the car, and apparently I had to toss it somewhere because I couldn't turn the wheel of my car, so I got rid of the thing. Then I learnt at the hospital later on that it was his penis.

She pleaded temporary insanity. Never a duck around when you need one, I guess.

Do these things happen in gay relationships, I wonder? If so, I've never heard of it. I don't thank a man would do that to another man. They use their fists to settle a score, (no matter what the sexual orientation) I would think. But that is just my own speculation.

In gay relationships, we can even be a bit more prone to self-infliction at times, if we are the moody type. I could well imagine that one would cut off his nose to spite his face. But a penis? Never!

I've not heard about a case in a gay relationship, but there was one in Hong Kong in the 1980s where a 15-year old cut off another classmate's penis because he thought the boy was going out with his girlfriend. I fear that the more publicity given to this kind of horrible crime, the more likely it may be to occur, especially amongst youths.

I emailed the article to a Swedish friend here in Chiangmai and he happened to shortly thereafter discuss the topic with his boyfriend who's from a very small village about 50 kilometers south of Udon Thani. My Swedish friend asked his bf :"Would you ever do something like that to me?" and the bf responded: "Sure!" (unsure how tongue-in-cheek the reply was). And, when my Swedish friend asked: "Well, what about if I do it to you?!?", the bf responded without missing a beat: "Well, then I'll be a ladyboy!"

The boyfriend also mentioned that one of the wives in the village "fed the ducks" last year when she caught her husband cheating on her.
