As I have stated in a few posts, I am registered on some social networking sites, mostly to meet up with guys when I am travelling. And a couple are particularly fruitful, the more so in finding younger guys who really do want to meet up with guys who are older - without cash being involved.

 

I was deleting a whole bunch of messages from one site this morning when I came across this exchange which I found amusing - even though it was not intended to be. It took place around the time I was going to Singapore to see Kevin Spacey in "Richard III". This particular site enables you to insert a travel schedule. So this poster knew I was going to be in Singapore and wrote to me suggesting we meet up.

For various reasons,I had no interest in him. He had no photo or profile, plus he was a good bit older than my stated preferred age range. So I wrote back as I normally do –

Fair enough, Perhaps I should just have not responded, something I prefer not to do when someone takes the time to write to me. Unfortunately, he had mistaken my diplomacy for a put down. So I tried to end it with a modicum of good manners –

I found that hilariously funny. Here was someone approaching tourists to have sex with him, and then accusing them of being "sex tourists". 

 

There must be dozens of other funny/odd tales out there.

I had a similar exchange with a Thai who did not have a clear facepic. I politely asked for a clear facepic and he became hostile and we exchanged a few messages similar to yours.

 

I can generalize my experiences:

 

No facepic: I usually don't answer, and if I answer I will ask for a facepic. No email, no link to other websites, just a facepic!

 

Unclear facepic: After two disappointments this year, I rather skip these profiles.

Just for clarity and before we write these 2 guys off as over-sensitive - I assume you both provide clear facepics yourselves?

Oh, but indeed I do! In fact, I have 9 pics of which 7 have clear face pics, 2 in close-up. Sadly, though, I could not find the air brush before posting them!
