So, I've been in Singapore for several days. Today I happened to notice that there was a big dragon boat regatta taking place on the river just a couple of blocks from my hotel. So once the ran more or less stopped I headed out and spent a couple of hours there. Tons of cute college boys. I really like it here for the most part. The men are generally very handsome. There is a case before the Singapore High Court that once again brings into question a law on the city-state’s statute books. For the fourth time since 2009, Singapore held its annual Pink Dot celebration in Hong Lim Park yesterday. 15,000 are estimated to have turned up – 50% more than last year. I was leaving Berlin thursday 5th april and was flying with LH to Singapore in Businessclass with special price from 11.11.11 for 1111 Euro. First time i had a queue at immigration in Singapore. Waiting time about 10 min. but they are good in their service. Quickly opening new counters. Taxi to Peninsula around 14 S$. Checkin in Skylounge with drinks on my choice. It does seem as though the first step in the legal argument for abolishing Singapore's ancient colonial era anti-gay legislation may have been successfully argued. As the article mentions, it will only be the first of many such steps, but there are finally grounds for considerable optimism.

I am going to Singapore in November for three nights and four days. I love good Chinese food, and would like any and all recommendations. I am staying in Chinatown. I would also like to know of any must see places, especially those not know to tourist. Good gay bars with entertainment (My BF is going with me.), or great local non-gay entertainment or clubs. Having stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Hong Kong last month courtesy of a client, lightning struck twice as last week I was put up by yet another client in the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. This is the three wing hotel with the free-form pool stretching across the top. From the outside, it looks just amazing. Sorry to say, from the inside it more or less sucks as a 5-star hotel. I'd have a hard time giving it 3-stars! The lobby is like a bus station. Check in or out at the wrong times (i.e. most of the time) and you face long, long queues. Today comes news that it has rejected the appeal of a UK journalist against a 6-week jail sentence. His crime? Insulting the Judiciary!
