  1. To be honest my two visits to Baan Souy so far were in Nov and March, plan to return this November, so yes I accept a bit cooler than the middle of summer, but to wander to the beach is almost down hill all the way and a hell of a lot of very pleasant Russian eye caddy to enjoy on route!
  2. You could do a lot worst than trying Baan Souy, initially I was concerned ref the location, but it is a fairly pleasant walk to Jomtien beach via the water park place during the day and motor bike taxis make it easy to get in to boys town and back. The rooms are a decent size, with a good bathroom, the pool area fantastic to relax and all the staff are great, it is also pretty well 100% gay! I have tried the Ambiance, Café Royal and Mosiak in the past, no real problem with any of them, but for me now the pool, room quality and staff, means Baan Souy is now my firm favourite!
  3. Hi Mate If your thinking of meeting and taking a few Thai guys back to your hotel, I suggest you take this in to account when selecting a place to stay, my first time in Bangkok some time ago I stayed at the Holiday Inn - Silon, after the taxi journey back from the main gay areas it was a nightmare "smuggling" a friend in or paying the joiner fee when ever we were caught! I would suggest you consider a more "gay friendly" hotel such as Tartawan Place or the Rose hotel, both are excelent, depending on what you want, I use the Rose Hotel more now as whilst the rooms are a bit smaller, it is cheaper and I love their pool! Both hotels are a couple of minuites walk from the main gay bar areas at night and you will have no problens taking any new "Thai friend" back, providing he has ID and is over 18, which makes sense. During the day from either hotel easy to walk over to Lumpini Park and relax (& if you like more muscular guys see them working out in the open air gym!) or simple to get arround Bangkok as the nearest Sky train at station at Sala Daeng or the underground is only a short walk. I would also suggest during the day to try the tourist river boat, only a couple of sky train stops away, amazing value and a great way to see the city and stop off at some of the main tourist attractions from the river. It is also only about a 40 min gentle walk up the the main big shopping areas you mentioned, or easy by Sky train. Hope this is of help and have a great visit!
  4. I am thinking of trying out Baan Souy on my visit to Thailand next month for a change, has anyone stayed there recently and if so would love to hear any feedback..... In particular ...... Are the balcony rooms any larger or better than the pool side rooms, or are you just paying a bit more for the balcony? Is the inclusive breakfast OK and and can you enjoy it well in to the day (don't tend to surface that early whilst on holiday!) How easy is it to get back late at night from Boys Town area as normally been within an OK walking distance? Is it pretty well only gay - dont really fancy a load of "hetro Couples" sunbathing arround the pool if I am relaxing with some new found Thai boy! Any other feedback really appreciated
