That is precisely my point about saying this thread has become a pissing contest. Let's see, how many posts ago did this thread still have anything to do with Thai Guys in Tight Jeans? Besides, you're not the one putting down me or my board. However, somehow I'm failing to see how whether I'm a hypocrite, how much of a news article I'll allow to be posted, or whether I follow my own rules to the letter has anything to do with Thai Guys in Tight Jeans. I think you already know as well as I do, as soon as bkkguy sees this post, his response won't have anything to do with it either. However, since this thread is supposed to be about Thai Guys in Tight Jeans, I'll at least include a little something about it. That way, I still get to be a hypocrite - just not as much of one . . .
-
But I am a hypocrite. I've never claimed to be anything else. And guess what - I don't give a shit whether you like the way I do things or not. What I would not do on my board is allow a thread to degenerate into a pissing contest, such as this thread has become. I also would never permit anyone to use my board to criticize, complain about, or put down another board or its administrators and moderators. I'd delete those kinds of posts the instant I see them and tell whoever writes them if they have a problem with another board, take it to that board. All of Me 2, New Massage Parlor Sunee Plazza
Gaybutton replied to PattayaMale's topic in Gay Thailand
I didn't know many fail. Has there ever even been a gay massage in Sunee? I don't recall any. The ones I know about are around the Tuk Com area and are still in operation. I hope this massage does succeed. I think it has a good chance. Obviously, he can't really advertise "happy endings," but to the best of my recollection this is a new idea for Sunee. If I'm wrong about gay massages previously being in Sunee, maybe the time is right for a fresh start. I think for many, this might be just the thing. No uncomfortably loud music. No obligatory drinks. No pushy mama-sans. Also, some people have expressed embarrassment about being seen walking along the sois with a young lad. Maybe the idea of getting what you want, one stop " in-house," will be quite appealing to many. Only time will tell. Of course, for a slight fee . . . -
All of Me 2, New Massage Parlor Sunee Plazza
Gaybutton replied to PattayaMale's topic in Gay Thailand
You expect a massage to be included when visiting a massage parlour? I didn't realize you're so finicky and hard to please. I'm even harder to please. I like your idea of the small shorts, but I can do without the shirts. I recently went to a massage place that offered happy endings, but I doubt I'll go back. The price was right, the boy was very friendly, absolutely my type, flawless body with no blemishes, piercings or tattoos, very provocative attire, and his massage skills couldn't possibly have been better. The problem was - the happy ending part was self service . . . No luck on Gay Romeo for me either. I got into a chat with a young gent who got more and more interesting as the chat continued. I was all set to meet him, but then he revealed he is heavily into bondage. That actually kind of excited me, but I decided against meeting him anyway - despite the fact he's the Thai that binds . . . -
That's right. I'm glad you finally figured that out . . .

Clearing the cache doesn't help me. I still get the blank screen. I don't encounter this problem if I switch over to IE Explorer, but the browser I use is Firefox. I had no problem at all until you did this upgrade and it's just too inconvenient to have to switch back and forth between browsers. I'm sorry. I know the problem is not your fault, but the programmers trying to blame the browser is ridiculous when that same browser had no problem until this upgrade. They need to find what is causing this problem and they need to fix it. That's what you're paying them for. If they can't fix the software they're busy selling to people, then they need to hire someone who can. I'm not even convinced their upgrade actually resolved any security issues in the first place. What security issues were they resolving?

Remarks such as "Well, sorry, all boards but yours. Yours is perfect and never any issues and no spammers. My apologies for thinking otherwise" and "I do apologize if you thought I was trying to insult your lack of rocket science intelligence" are not condescending? Ok. I don't know what we're arguing about. All I'm saying is the current software has problems and the problems need to be dealt with. That has nothing to do with "defending" the board. The board itself is not the problem. The software is the problem. I've already explained the problem and I don't see a need to debate about it. I'm not making it up.
-
There's nothing to show. I get a completely blank white screen, just like the inside of the posting box in the "Reply to this topic" below. It also seems to me that I'm not the one taking it personally. As I recall, you sold this board, but your posts are coming across as being upset about the board software having problems. Unless this is still your board or you designed the current board software, what does it have to do with you and why all the condescending remarks you're posting? None of it alters the fact that a software problem exists and it needs to be fixed.
-
I fail to see what that has to do with problems on this board. Yes, I certainly have had problems on my board. I've also solved them. Are you trying to say the fact that I've had problems on my board means I shouldn't say anything if I experience problems here? And I do understand software quite well, thank you very much. The fact that you have had zero problems doesn't mean everyone else is also having zero problems. I've tried accessing this board via the suggestions you've made. For me, the only thing that works is what I've already said. I've never had to go through the main web site to get to the board before and I don't want to start having to do that now. I also don't want to have to start playing Musical Browsers to access this board. Rocket science or not, until now I had no problems accessing the board with one quick click. What has been done on this board is not my idea of a software update. If that's what it was supposed to be, I don't see any significant changes at all. To me, the purpose of a software update is to improve the functionality of the software. All I see is a change in the appearance of the board. I freely admit I may be missing something regarding improved functionality, and if I am I'd like someone to point it out. You said in your own post that you are "a firm believer in keeping things updated and working properly." The board has now been updated, but if people are having problems as a reslult, that's not my idea of working properly. Is it yours? Pattayamale's, z909's, and my complaints are legitimate and the software needs to be fixed. It doesn't take rocket science to see that either.
-
That is precisely what I'm trying to say. The board was working perfectly. Nobody was complaining about difficulty accessing the board. Nobody was complaining that the board now has an "old" look and is in need of "sprucing up." Nobody was complaining about the format, the layout, or saying they need to zoom in. That's why my opinion is nothing was "broke" and in need of fixing. Sometimes the best intentions are a flop. In my view, the new format is a flop and I'm not alone in having difficulty accessing the board. No matter how much a new look might be appreciated, if some of the membership is having problems accessing the board, you've got a big problem and it needs to be effectively dealt with. The way I see it, now there are three choices: 1. Fix the board. 2. Restore the board to the way it was. 3. Do nothing
-
Excellent. Now, suppose you tell me just what on this board is now "spruced up" and is a more attractive presentation than before. I've missed it.
-
As I posted on my own board: That's how I got to the board now. I'm a firm believer in "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." With the exception of the automatic log in feature (And that feature still doesn't work, at least for me), this board was working perfectly. I fail to see why changing it around was necessary or how anything about it is significantly improved. Messing around with it has caused problems and glitches. Quite frankly and in all honesty, even if there were no glitches at all, the differences now present in the board leave me "underwhelmed." I see nothing impressive or even particularly desirable about the changes. My unsolicited advice is: If and when you get this board working as it is supposed to, unless some sort of really important "can't live without it" improvement comes along, then leave it alone. Why try to make alterations to a message board that is already working perfectly? I don't think very many people go to this board, or any board, because of how pretty it looks or because of bells and whistles. They go to the boards to read and post messages. But in all honesty, when simply trying to get to a board at all becomes an inconvenient chore, that's when I stop going to that board very often or even stop going to that board at all. I hope these problems will be fixed - fast.

I have a few reasons why I prefer Gay Romeo to the bars. Living here, the go-go bars lost their fascination for me long ago. I almost wish that wasn't the case, but now I prefer looking for young gents from the comfort of my home, rather than spending the evening bar hopping and spending money on drinks I don't want, the obligatory "drink for boy," off fees, excessively loud music volume, etc. I just don't enjoy the go-go bars anywhere near as much as I used to. When I was here for holidays and even when I first lived here, if I missed a night in the bars, I felt like I was depriving myself of something. Now, the bars simply are no longer a priority for me. I still do go to the bars every so often, but I find all I want using Gay Romeo. With Gay Romeo, I don't even have to leave the house. If I find a willing young gent, twenty minutes later he's knocking on my door. No drinks. No off fees. When a farang takes a boy off from a bar, if he returns to the bar the same boy often assumes the farang came back for him. Some people find it very awkward and uncomfortable to call over a different boy and reject the boy he had already taken off. There's really no reason for that, but if it is a problem for you, that problem doesn't exist when using Gay Romeo. Another reason I like Gay Romeo is not every boy is a money boy. In the bars, by the time you're done, you can easily go through several thousand baht just finding the one who attracts you the most, and he's not interested in going with you or even sitting with you unless he's paid to do so. I've met many guys on Gay Romeo who not only are not money boys, but won't even let me pay their taxi fare. I'll be damned if I have the slightest clue why they would be attracted to me, but I'm sure not going to argue with them about it. Gay Romeo is certainly not for everyone. With the gay bar scene here, I would think most holiday makers prefer that to sitting on a computer. The bar scene is the reason many come here in the first place. Many want to see the person live rather than relying on photos placed on Gay Romeo. Another reason to use Gay Romeo - not everyone lives in Pattaya, Bangkok, Phuket, or anywhere else where a gay bar scene exists at all. Even many who come to Thailand for a holiday are not interested in the bar scene or coming to cities such as Pattaya. It's not their thing. Gay Romeo can come in mighty handy in such locations. I also like Gay Romeo because quite often I prefer to meet guys in the afternoon rather than at night. Sometimes the morning too. The bars are open only at night. Gay Romeo has plenty of guys available 24/7 - even on holidays when the bars have to be closed. With Gay Romeo, if you wake up at 5:00am and are feeling a little frisky, there will be guys on Gay Romeo even at that hour. It all depends on your point of view, what you're looking for, and how you prefer to do your looking.

The only objection I have is you haven't posted more pics. If you've got 'em, post 'em.
-
Some of the photos also include a male and female farang who were caught up in the photos. By bkkguy's logic, their permission is also necessary before the picture can be posted. And don't forget to obtain permission from the marine police officer in the boat in the background of one of the pictures. Next time, just swim out and ask him it it's ok. How about photos of the crowds at Songkran? Don't forget to find and obtain permission from each and every one of the people in the crowd. The rules are here for a reason. Common sense also comes into play. If bkkguy wants to place such a literal interpretation of the rules just to make some sort of ridiculous point, let him. "John Marshall has made his decision. Now let him enforce it!" - President Andrew Jackson (supposedly he never actually said that)

Yes, he's the owner. I hope you made him aware of the Email. Based on your post above, his board software apparently has several glitches and I wouldn't be surprised if the Email turns out to be one of them. Again, if you or anyone else experiences these kinds of problems, unless you tell him about it he won't know a problem even exists.
-
Have any of you sent a PM or Email to DaBoss or jinks about this? As I said, it may be purely unintentional and they may not even be aware of it. For example, often, on my own board I ban IP numbers when registration attempts come in from that Russian company that is constantly trying to place phony registrations on my board. Sometimes, that also unintentionally bans out legitimate members. Until I receive an Email from a member that happened to, I have no way of knowing it and fixing it for that user. One of the reasons I think it may be unintentional is because I think if they were going to intentionally start deleting members, Emails, or anything else, then they would have posted some sort of announcement about it prior to doing it. Also, on any board it's a good idea to keep your Email address updated. Sometimes a board announcement might be sent out or someone may have sent a PM to you. If someone sends you a PM, most boards send a notification to you via Email informing you that you have a PM waiting. If you're someone who only logs in periodically, then you might not even know about the PM if the board is sending out the notification Email to the wrong address. If you read the board without logging on, you could have a PM sitting there for months without knowing it.
-
I think that's a good point. While some may say the rule should apply when someone is trying to post personal information about another person, and shouldn't apply if someone is voluntarily posting his own phone number, there is still the possibility of someone playing games with another person's telephone number. I think it would be best for people who want to give out their own telephone number to do so via a PM or Email. I think posting personal telephone numbers should not be allowed at all, even if someone wants to post his own.
-
This is just a guess on my part - I haven't had any communication with DaBoss about this, but my board uses the same basic software. Intentionally or unintentionally, he might have the board set to automatically prune out inactive members if they have not logged in for a specified length of time and the Email may have been automatically generated. If you received that Email, you might want to send an Email of your own to DaBoss. It's entirely possible he might not even be aware that these Emails are going out.
-
If that's the case, then why would he write such a post and leave that phone number, especially having no idea how many calls he might get? That makes no sense to me at all. Suppose this guy actually turns out to be genuine? Meanwhile you've got 65-trillion other boys available in Thailand. Do what you want, gents, but that post and the responses to the phone calls only mean "red lights" to me.
-
When it comes to this sort of thing, despite your sarcasm, you're right. If you really can't see through it, why not arrange to meet him and afterwards tell me how wrong I was? If it turns out I'm wrong, I'll be happy to eat a well deserved serving of crow. The post in near perfect English, followed by two phone calls, the phone answered by two different people, neither of whom spoke English, but the guy is so lonely? Ok . . .
-
Are you serious? I wouldn't give him 24 minutes. The scam is so obvious. Of course, there is always the possibility, however remote, that the guy is actually for real. So, rather than respond by calling the number, if you really want to "help" this guy find a nice friend because he is so lonely, just send him a text message - the entirety of the message being: http://www.gayromeo.com

A bar, as in just one? I don't know about Bangkok. I haven't gone to a go-go bar in Bangkok for years and I doubt I ever will again. If they want people to pay the kinds of prices most of them are charging, fine with me, but include me out. In Pattaya, try most of them, including Eros when it isn't a theme night. And even on many of their theme nights, the boys still wear whatever they want. For instance, on thong nights, the boys wear whatever kinds of thongs they want - no standard issue. Try Mic My, Nice Boys, Lucky 777, along with most of the others in Boyztown-Pattayaland. Even in Krazy Dragon, I've seen some boys wearing what they want rather than the issued attire. Have a look at the second photo on their gallery page and you'll see what I mean: http://www.krazy-dragon.com/galleryall.html
-
That's precisely why they usually don't advertise them outside. I doubt it. So far, in my experience, it doesn't work that way. Don't forget, the reason most boys are there in the first place is to try to be taken off. If one boy is wearing a thong and another boy is wearing bib overalls and a long sleeve shirt, guess which of the two is most likely to be taken off. I like them attired minimally too, and the boys who choose to be rather than forced to be - that's the kind of "statement" I like and that's the boy who has the best chance to be taken off, at least taken off by me. I've been in a lot of bars where the boys decide for themselves what to wear. Believe me, scanty attire is not a problem for most of them. As a matter of fact, many of them wear attire even more scanty than the bars where the boys are told what to wear. Thank goodness!
