  1. That is one of the reasons I have lost interest in the bars, which now are host bars in Jomtien Complex. It is not much fun for me when the bar boys are far more interested in staring into their phones than they are interacting with customers. And you are right. That would not be the case without management permitting it. In the old days - which I call "the golden years" when it was mostly Sunee Plaza go-go bars (my favorite was Eros), the boys constantly made an effort to interact with customers and get taken off. The exception was there were also many dancers throughout the various bars, when on stage, rather than overtly trying to attract customers would instead be staring at themselves in the mirrors. And for many, their idea of dancing was standing almost still and just doing "the one-knee shuffle" But in those days there were plenty of boys who were really trying to get customers. And some were so popular that you actually had to make a reservation the day before for the boy of your choice. If you didn't show up within 20 minutes of the arranged time, now the boy was free to go with another customer. And if you arrived late the boy was usually already gone. Being accustomed to the way things used to be, speaking only for myself, the bars have long since lost their magic and appeal. I miss it, but am very grateful for having been here for those times when they existed.
  2. To be accurate you'll have to demote me from ringleader to regular member. I wouldn't refer to him as ringleader. Just the organizer. Some may also remember our "Fine Dining Society". He organized that too. His screen name was Maple. We started dwindling out the very day Micheal (Crabby) and Thomas left Corner Bar. It just wasn't the same anymore and the new owners let the place rapidly go downhill until it failed and went out of business, which did not take very long We also disliked the fact that the day they took over they fired every boy who worked there, some for years. They had been promised they would not lose their jobs. We did not appreciate that they had been flat out lied to. We decided to meet elsewhere, but it just wasn't the same and we began losing interest. Eventually, less than a year later as I recall, it just fizzled out. What became of our regulars? None of us were spring chickens. Some have passed on. Some have returned to their home countries. Some, like me, lost interest in the bars. Some seem to have just vanished from the face of the earth. As far as I know, now I am the last one from the original group still left. "What has always worried me about being one of the few is the way we keep on getting . . . fewer." - Richard Burton (Flight Officer David Campbell), 'The Longest Day'
  3. No objection from me. I think everybody reading this now recognizes what's what and what the truth is. Nothing further from me is necessary.
  4. I hereby give my consent for him to post any PMs that I sent to him and all I sent to anyone else with regard to this - with the permission of the board operators. There will, of course, be none.
  5. Yet another absolute total lying fabrication, troll. I don't even need to elaborate. Everyone reading this knows exactly what you're trying to do.
  6. Mt interest in meeting you at all, ever, for any reason is zero. You're nothing but a lying troll. You're even lying now after posting that you put me on ignore. You lied about telling people I require an interview to gain membership to my board, and lied again after I explained that what I require an Email so that I know it is not a bot registration attempt. Are you going to lie about it a third time? You lied saying I have sent you abusive messages. I have never sent you any messages. In short, I have no intention of meeting you. If you want to get me off your back, that is simple. Stop lying and stop being a troll. And I would probably stop right now if you either post a public apology for attacking Bud like that, for absolutely no reason or at least come up with a justifiable, acceptable explanation as to why you did that. That attack is why I am going after you. First the apology and then maybe I'll leave you alone. First one, then the other.
  7. Why necessarily at dawn . . . ?
  8. Am I? BULLSHIT! Just another from among many lies from this troll. If I were on "ignore", then how did he know about my "Yawn" post? He knew. He responded to it with, of all things, a "like". By the way, the word used in this context is spelled you're. It's "you're on ignore," not "your on ignore." While learning to spell, you might also want to learn correct grammar and punctuation. I've seen 14 year-olds with far greater English skills, but coming from a 14 year-old mind, I'm not surprised.
  9. I do have one more for you, troll: YAWN . . .
  10. I would not. That kind of comment would not be necessary. When trolls show up on my board I just delete their posts and ban them from the board. Problem solved. Usually they then run to another board to cry about it there. By the way, I'm still waiting for that explanation for the lengthy insult to Bud. I won't be surprised if we never get an explanation because there is no excuse for it. A typical mark of a board troll.
  11. Yes, you make that obvious. Spent a lot of time coming up with those, did you? As I said, you're nothing but a troll. I have better things to do than respond to any more of your lame insult attempts. Try targeting someone who gives a damn about anything you have to say - except one last thing. I'd like you to explain to everyone reading this why you insulted Bud. Did he do something to deserve that?.
  12. Like I said, if you want to know my history, the one to ask is me. My current board has been there since 2010. It is not my first board. So yes, my current board has been online since 2010. Isn't that about the same amount of time you have been nothing but a board troll, or have you been at it even longer than that?
  13. Hasn't it occurred to anyone who wants to know my board history to simply ask me? Some of you have excellent memory - and some have things a bit mixed up. Also, when mentioning long gone boards and board owners, apparently nobody remembers Allen Briggs, owner of the Pattaya Gay board and his screen name was Gaypattayan. It was a quite popular board in its day. His, as I recall, was the first gay Thailand board. Allen, Dreaded Ned, and I would regularly meet at my home to discuss our board operations and ideas about how the boards ought to be run. We did not always agree. There were also other boards that appeared and now have vanished. I have been operating gay boards since the days when owning an Atari 800 computer was considered top-of-the-line, connecting to a board required a direct connection via telephone, newsgroups were popular, 300 baud was maximum speed, CDs did not yet exist, and board owners were known as Sysops (System Operators). I have even posted a few times about how I came up with the name Gaybutton. And no, I do not require some sort of interview to register on my board. What I require is receiving an Email from the applicant, only to confirm you are actually human, not a bot registration attempt. I know of no gay board that requires an interview. If one exists, I don't know about it.
  14. 4 gays are in a swimming pool. One sees a condom floating on the surface. He puts his hands on his hips, looks at the others accusingly, and says "All right, who farted?"
  15. If that happens, I'll be glad to help them warm up . . .
  16. There are no problems about a private room at Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital. All of their rooms are private rooms, and that hospital is on Cigna's preferred list.. I once had a stay at Bumrungrad hospital in Bangkok. That room was also a private room and it too is on Cigna's preferred list.
  17. I have been with Cigna Global for years. They offer many different options and their prices are quite reasonable. One of the things I like best is they pay the hospital directly, which means I don't have to pay first and then wait for a reimbursement. The only out-of-pocket expense I ever have is paying the deductible. Also, there is no cut-off age. As long as you pay the premiums they will insure you for life no matter how old you get. In my case I have it set up to pay my premiums quarterly and they simply deduct the amount from my Thai bank account. They have always paid without any problems at all and have never rejected payment. Too many insurance companies try to get out of paying or prolong it as long as they can. Nothing like that happens with CIgna. They will insure you anywhere in the world except your home country, so it's best if you don't spend much time in your home country. It is, after all, expat insurance. As for pre-existing conditions, they might refuse to insure, but that is rare. They will more likely give you a more expensive premium or your pre-existing condition will be an exclusion. In my case, the only exclusion is anything resulting from high blood pressure. I don't know why they made than an exclusion. but I have no objection. I do not, and have never had, a high blood pressure problem. Don't try to hide or lie about any pre-existing conditions. Insurance companies have their ways of finding out. I urge anyone looking for expat health insurance to check with Cigna before committing to anything else. https://www.cignaglobal.com/
  18. No. Very sorry, but you know him and you have his contact information. I suggest getting that information directly from him, not from me.
  19. Actually his name is Kelvin, not Kevin. I have no idea whether he is an antivaxer, but suppose he is. What does that have to do with his legal service? He also has a charitable organization and his service includes concrete help if any of his clients eventually get dementia or Alzheimer's. If that makes him an idiot, I'll take his idiocy. Do as you wish, but I am very satisfied with his work and any time I need legal work, he is the man I will be consulting.
  20. I highly recommend Thai888 Law. The owner is Australian. His name is Kelvin. His Thai paralegal staff is quite competent and they speak English. The office is on the ground floor of the View Talay 5 condo, Building A. Enter the building, turn left, and the office is all the way down the hall. I had them make my Thai will. The fee was 6000 baht. https://www.facebook.com/thai888lawpattaya/ Tel: 080 102 8978 I was truly pleased and I think you will be too.
  21. I have a better idea. Don't go there . . .
  22. I'm sure all the responses are accurate, but if it were me, I would be asking the boy of interest. Don't you think the boys know where to go? And I would go with his recommendation because it would be a room he is probably familiar with, likes, and feels comfortable there.
  23. Welcome "home". Don't say you're not good with trip reports. Yes you are. In all the years I've lived here, it has never occurred to me ask for a sample of the massage. I wish I had thought of that. So your first report this trip has already helped me and probably many more than only me.
  24. They are. Do a Google search for "pawn shop Bangkok". I just tried it and dozens come up.
