Hi GB Thanks for reposting he phrase book Much appreciated Will Save it down for study on my next flight!

Hi GB Back when you ran the old Gaybutton site - you used to have a page that listed out simple words and phrases in English and their Thai Equivalent I used to regularly refer to that list in my early dats of visiting Thailand Now that my Thai vocabulary has improved - i'd be interested in seeing how I am doing against the old list... However i seem to have mislaid my copy Do you still have the list to hand? I'm sure there are lots of newbies(and not-so newbies!) out there that would benefit from this list Thanks in Advance!

I seem to remember a stage back arund 2001/2002 where somebody would get arrested once a month in the short time rooms in the old Amigo/Leo bar (what is now Don Plaza) Ok i know thats not taking somebody "off" its taking someone sort time upstairs... but mamasans and waiters are always keen for the customers to take a boy "upstairs" and there have been planty of arrests for this -
This is the internet age - so i think you should abandon the letter writing in favour of: VOIP - I call my BF 5-6 times a day over VOIP, using services like Voipcheap and voipstunt - the call never costs me more than 1c per minute On the other hand if you really prefer the written medium of communication - you could pick up ur BF a brand new netbook at around 10,000B on you next trip (or a second hand one even cheaper) Thailand has a great GSM network so your BF would be able to access the internet using a GPRS or 3G modem (300B per month on True) You could even use MSN and communicate with him real time - or even better with webcams and see him real time The 10,000 could be quite quickly recouped in postage/translation (and stress!) costs

Hi Jtrack Was their room in south pattaya on the corner of 3rd road and Soi 17 by any chance (across from the 7-11 and the big open air food market?) There are tons of gay boys working there including a bunch of ex-Cocktail/Euroboys workers who use Gayromeo exclusively these days for their pickups They can also be seen partying and strutting their stuff most night in x-ray, usually with new Russans farangs in tow
-
He has been in quite a few of the recent Islnd Caprice videos: http://www.icsvideo.com/ They call him Anurak so u can search on that site for his name... Most of their newer models i saw/met on my last trip to pattaya in Nov/Dec/Jan... So that would tend to indicate that he was in the Pattaya area inthe last 6-12 months Ics video would also have his Proof of age detail (ID card) on file so perhaps theycan help...

HI GT One thing that has always seemed strange to me is your penchant for straight guys! If you are looking for a true BF or BS it would help for a start if he was: -Gay -Into Farang -Does not have a current BF or LB or GF on the side Thats my opinion on it anyway...

Also picked up my copy tonight - with MBs autograph... looking frward to reading it over thenext few days... Is Mama Rose referenced in it? He is my BFs "mama" (or at least 1 of many!)so i'm sure he will be interested too!

Hi PattayaMale - i think that Thappraya soi 11 is a more accurate address for Cafe Des Amis... Both Sansuk Sauna and Cafe Des Amis have their signs at the top of Thappraya soi 11 The restaurant is at the top of the small street leading into the sauna... (not long after the much spoken about Morocan castle)

I paid 3000 fora taxi from Suvanabhumi to Khorat in Late December 2007.... I would imagine that the same price still applies Think we did the journey in 2.5 hours

Hi Guys As suspected I have been overpaying! After seeing a few Baht bus drivers get nasty with customers (one time involving an iron bar!). I have always tended to err on the side of caution when it comes to paying baht bus drivers... Will give the 10 baht payment a trial and see how it goes... If anyone hears of an Irish guy being beaten to ribbons by a baht bus driver - it's probably me!
-
Hi Guys Just wondering what you are all currently paying for: Baht Bus from: 1. South Pattaya-Jomtien 2. South Pattaya - Soi 7 3. South Pattaya - Big C in north Pattaya I usually pay 20 for all of the above - some of the Pattaya guides say it should be 30 to Jomtien, other say 10 should be paid on all journeys... What do you guys think?

Hi Rene I was always told that it was a fire in the cinema on the top floor that closed the dayNight shopping centre.... And that is why the top floor is still unoccupied? Anybody else heard this version of events?

Hi GB I arrive on the friday at 7am Do you think Chonburi will be manic at that stage? I just wanna get to South Pattaya, Meet the bf and hit the streets of Naklua!
-
GB - I arrive on the 18th...Will spend that afternoon in naklua and that evening in the area between Bamboo bar and Country Road in Jomtien next day will be spent slowly walking from South Pattaya back to the area between Bamboo bar and Country Road in Jomtien... As a young(ish) farang Songkran is my favourite time of the year - especially as my Bf and hs friends love it so much too... I'm just gonna imagine that every farang i see is you... and soak ya Don't forget to fight to fight back B) B) edit= really bad spelling mistakes!

Having followed this cae for the last 7-8 years i have always tried to remain neutral to both sides... I have always found both side to be quite likeable an never been tempted to support either side... However the one thing that has always baffled me is the disappearing bellboy(s)from the Amibance Surely the only people who can ever prove or dis-prove this story are those who took Kquills bags from his suite to the Limo? After all they are the only people who had full unsupervised access to kquills baggage... Are these staff members details not on file? can they not be tracked down by their ID cards? Are they even Alive or did they ever even exist? To me this is the biggest mystery this case and teh thing i would be seeking to prove if i was either the party...

Hi Wowpow - I'll rewrite my last message... My BF is 23 now... I met him 5 years ago when he was 18 working in Boystown (Pattayaland soi3) At that stage he had been working in Bars in Boystown (and only Boystown=Pattayaland Soi 3) for 2 years Do the Maths! Every bar tries - some succeed! I have no doubt that the Bar owners were unaware that he was underage, but the simple fact is that he was! I just want it noted that there is no cast iron guarantee that a boy from boystown, pattayaland, Jomtien or Sunnee is over 18.

I have quite a few things I'd like to say about Louis... But I guess they would never see the light of day if i wrote them... Having been involved with a guy who worked in one of his bars before - I would not be so quick to heap praise upon this individual

I have to agree with Up2U and Pete1969 on this one... Whilst I have never stayed in The Malaysia (I usually stay in Pinnacle or Babylon) I have had friends who have refused to accompany me to the 24 hour coffee shop there. These friends were usually Bkk born University students or non-moneyboys who i had picked up in DJ or around Silom soi 2. They didn't want to be seen in the Malaysia coffee shop as they were afraid to be classified as a moneyboy... Bar boys that I picked up had no problem going there for an afterhours snack or drink My Bf too has no objection to going there at all - but then he has spent a long time living in Pattaya!

I was in London last weekend It was my first ever visit... Amazing as I have been in and out of Heathrow loads of times on my travels to and from LOS! As an Irish man I have never found any inclination to visit... But a rice queen friend who is living there persuaded me to come over for a long weekend... I have to admit I was astounded with London Great City, Great night life, And Great... Asians! Have never seen so many gorgeous Asian guys in one place ever (LOS or S'pore or Oz) The amount of Thais in london is incredible I was so impressed I'm going agian on June 29th for Pride weekend On my last trip I stayed in The Ibis Euston at £165 for a 3 night (fri-mon) stay - Definately one of the best deals going... pity its booked out for my next trip Ibis Euston right next to Euston station, so very handy, with food Court, M&S etc And only around 20 Min walk from GAY, GAY Late etc GAY Late seems to be the new "in" place for Asian guys to visit after Kudos, The Village etc closes, Be aware that you'll have to queue for ages to get in.... I'm sure ur BF will have a ball there!
-
I too am here for Songkran... and having a great time so far... We're off to Bangsaen now to join the songkran festivities there for the afternoon...
-
Cadbury's Chocolate! Of the UK/Ireland variety... Made with a glass and a half of dairy cream milk etc. Not that waxy, sugar cane stuff they import from Oz and Indonesia!
-
Well Done Yarden! I hope he enjoys the trip.... Make sure you keep him away from Dublins gay bars - or he could be running away (with ME :-P) Just Kidding - where and when is the wedding on? I'm sure ur Bf will be very popular with all the Aunts etc! If you need any holiday advice for Ireland let me know!
