The Nutibara hotel in the city centre/next to Plaza Botero? Why the he…did you stay there? That area at night is def not for the faint hearted and you should be very cautious walking around in the evening/at night. It is very sketchy but conveniently close to the seedy parts of Medellin (female hookers are at Plaza Botero and the adjacent streets) with male street trade and druggies congregating at nearby Parque Bolivar available for cheap hook-up at nearby love hotels (again this area is not for for faint hearted and the risk of robbery after dark is imminent). During day time it is fine but leave your valuables in the room.

Your experiences in Medellin and the inflated rates for sex, just confirms my decision to skip to Meddelin and focus on secondary Colombian cities like Pereira and Cali where the costs of accommodation and sex are much lower. If in Colombia and being asked to transfer/make a deposit it is easy to do if the recipient has a Bancolombia bank account (most Colombians do). In any Corresponal Bancolombia branch office/booth/store (they are everywhere, just look around) you will be able to make a deposit with the account number (and name) of the account holder; and it is free of charge. You get a small receipt where you are able to see the name of the account holder, account No. and amount deposited. No need to show ID/passport.

Here are a few observations from my stay in Athens last month: I stayed north of Victoria Sq (5min walking from Victoria metro st/Victoria Sq. in a predominantly Arab/Middle East area. A 5-day transportation pass for 8.20 Euro is great value as it gives free access to all metro and local busses (including to Pireaus) except to/from the airport on the M3 metro line which requires a 9 Euro special ticket. Most guys approaching you will be top and for pay and will be street trade (immigrants or refugees) from Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, North Africa etc; almost none from Greece. Seems to be Middle East, Syrians, north Africans etc; all a bit on the rough side/street trade. It can be difficult to figure out if guys there are looking for action or just having a good time with friends. A few mature punters walking around as well. Once you have walked past the open circle area and the red steel poles on the main walkway you are in the right area, but it seems that action takes place along the small paths and in the bushes to the south of the main walkway; the guys know the spots where to take you but action can quickly draw spectators. Omonia A few street hustlers (primarily arab or Middle East) around the west entrance to the metro on Omonia Sq. and at the pedestrian street to the left of the Hondos center. Difficult to tell if the guys are available for business. I didn’t have the nerve to initiate contact or have a seat at one of the cafes to see if something would happen. The pedestrian street leads to the Cosmopolit hotel in the area behind the Hondos center. Cinema Cosmopolit next to the hotel remains closed. The area feels a bit rough with hookers (female) and drug addicts in the streets west of the Cosmopolit hotel. Also 1-2 blocks west of the Cosmopolit hotel you find the Mansion Hotel reported by others as available for short time (I didn’t check it out; only walked past it) Pireaus Easy accessible via metro. Lovely get-away from Athens with a nice city centre and a nice marina; underrated and well worth a visit IMO.
