This is a newcomer to the Bogota Chapigay scene. A former discotheque has been reinvented as a male Gogo bar with private dances in the backroom cabanas. Hours currently are Wednesday - Saturday (Sunday nights on holiday weekends only) I tried to visit on three occasions to give a fair assessment, but a hail storm today knocked out power to a number of Chapinero bars/clubs. So I only got to experience this place twice. The club is essentially two rooms with a rear hallway of private dance cabanas. The stated rate is 60.000COP for a dance, but tips and extras will set you back at least 100.000COP. The layout of the club is odd, as the Go-go's stage is at the front of the club by the bar. This means everyone is crammed into the tiny room by the bar either "watching" the show or getting a lap dance on one of the four couches provided. It makes for close quarters which I guess is part of the attraction. The second, larger room at the back is quieter and has better bar seating. Good spot to chat away from the frenzy, but it was clear that this was no-man's land and the dancers did not solicit in this room. Other note -- the drug dealing in the club was obvious and active. There were multiple dealers in the room providing "dulces' for those interested. If that is the Bogotá experience you are looking for... Finally, the boys: I was impressed the diversity in body types and skin tones compared to the competition. There were plenty of boys to choose from -- at least 15 on a Saturday night (and I was told they had several call in due to the torrential storm). Some were simply slinging dope (see previous paragraph) while others where openly organizing private dates at the end of the night. Many were offering WhatsApp contact information to hook up outside the club. Its not as polished as Gigolo Erotic House, but it's a good alternative in a rapidly gentrifying neighbourhood.

Dropped in last night around 10:30pm with friends to pre-game at Gigolo and…man was it dead. Perhaps it was an off night because it is a long weekend here, but there were more dancers than patrons when we arrived. Many dancers that were long-time at the club have moved on to Garage or quit the game. There was just one dancer that I recognized. Still recommend a visit but it appeared things have shifted at Gigolo Erotic House.

My clubbing days are long past me, but I usually treat my friends to night out while here. While I am likely the oldest person, there is definitely a wide range of ages in the clubs. Particularly in Bogotá at the larger venues like Theatrón.

They are all open, each attracts a different crowd. Happened to be in the area yesterday and Sauna Cruising was full with a line up at 5pm. I didn't walk up to El Castillo, but i have been told that is the spot of choice for young "pollos" here in Medellín.

Colombia has multiple island archipelagos - San Bernardo, San Andrës, Providencia & Santa Carolina, Islas Rosarios. Take your pick.
-
Correct. His Grindr profile continued the OnlyFans link plus clearly stated “Disponible”. I noticed that had changed yesterday.
-
I spent a week in the islands getting in some quality beach time. Having checked the local Grindr listings I saw that a favourite porn/OnlyFans performer happened to be on the island. Yesterday at lunch that same actor entered with an older friend and sat at the table next to mine. When the performer went to the washroom, I turned to the other chap and introduced myself, told him I knew who his guest was, and would he tell me the going rate for travel? They both happily shared that they had hooked up via Grindr on the island. The agreed daily rate (exclusive) was $300USD per day plus expensives. Which seemed very reasonable to me for some quality dick on call 24 hours per day and no, I am not going to share the performer’s name, just know he is a well hung Colombian with an OnlyFans.
-
Wow. Okay I am in the islands for some vacation time but return next week. Will have to check it out. Thanks!

Quick follow up — the clean up continues and if you are looking to book a trip to or witihin Colombia in March/April, prices have spiked with the loss of a major competitor. Pretty much all flight prices have increased 40% since the collapse. Cheap flights have vanished as airlines look to cash in on demand.

If you are looking for a different way to spend a Sunday in Medellin and enjoy some serious eye candy, you may want to do the hike up to El Cerro de las tres cruces, or as it is known to local gays El cerro de las seis cuadritos. You can Google translate that one, This is not an easy hike and you will need to be prepared for a serious workout. This is a favourite on the weekend for friends to get together and “sweat out” Saturday nights’ regrets. But if you commit to the hike to the summit, there are stellar views of the city of Medellín and many many well cared for bodies. This is the highest point in the city accessible on foot, so the trek is popular and there are vendors along the ways selling water, coffee and fruit. The new trend of Paisa’s wearing only sheer tights for the hike up might be enough inspiration for you to complete the full trip to the final summit.

I don’t know if they are still working from this location. I noticed newer ads and website no longer reference this address, so I believe (unconfirmed) that they are now on located in Chapinero Norte closer to Zona T. the old location was a five minute walk and the area was pretty quiet when I went. There are some areas to be avoided but the area to the south is being gentrified rapidly with lots of new construction,

Wow! On the bus. But I agree with your choice -- I absolutely despise Viva Air (not a secret from my posts here), but for many it was an economical option for local air travel around Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. They even had twice-weekly flight from MDE to MIA. But I am decidely in the "good riddance" camp here. Just a shame to witness the ensuing chaos. Should be flying out from MDE this Friday but let us see if the protests continue. https://www.infobae.com/colombia/2023/02/28/video-cancelacion-de-vuelos-de-viva-air-tambien-provoco-protestas-en-el-aeropuerto-de-rionegro-antioquia/

Will try to upload the photo I took later, but it is definitely under construction presently. Would expect that they are at least 4 months away from opening, probably in time for La feria de las flores in August.

If you are traveling to Colombia this week, or planning an internal flight within the country, be aware that Viva Air ceased operations today with no notice, leaving hundreds of thousands stranded in airports across Colombia and around Latin America and the USA (Miami). Today has been total chaos in Colombia as passengers attempted to get answers from Viva, who left their employees to fend off angry crowds with zero information about the status. Other airlines like Avianca and LATAM have offered to transport ticket holders, creating additional delays and flight cancellations as ticket sales have been suspended while they try to clean up Viva's mess. I will update as I find English resources but here is a good article in Spanish explaining what has happened https://www.infobae.com/colombia/2023/02/28/crisis-de-viva-air-estas-son-las-razones-que-llevaron-a-la-quiebra-de-la-aerolinea/

I have an appointment in the area tomorrow...will take a peek to see how close to opening things look.

Thanks for this...good to know,. I recently met a favourite scort at the Lov 24 (not misspelled -- that is the name) hotel on Avendia Colombia and had no issues, but maybe he organized something in advance of my arrival? Nevertheless thank you for sharing your experience with this.

Nice post...I always tell visitors to consider a trip to Zipaquirá to visit the Salt Catheral...it is impressive.

Just a note for those interested in visiting El Sillón Rojo, yesterday was the Pollos contra maduros (youth vs. older men) event and the place was packed from 1pm onward with plenty of young men interested in sex with older men. As always, check their WhatsApp for the list of upcoming events.

Bogota: The action during the week can be very spotty so do not be surprised to see virtually empty clubs on a Monday or Tuesday. Here are some suggestions for central Bogota that I solicited from locals: Wednesday - Club Chueca (new location in Zona T - not the old Chapinero location which is no more) Thursday - El Mozo (Zona T) - Leos Bar Mistica (Chapinero) Good options for crowds but zero strippers Friday - Dark Club (Chapinero) - El Bunker (Chapinero) - Fuzion Bar (Chapinero) Saturday - Theatron (Chapinero) - El Mozo (Zona T) Strippers are only a regular feature at Gigolo Erotic House (Chapinero) - DistricheX nightly show (Chapinero) - Garage Gogo Mne (Chapinero) Several of the saunas feature stripper shows (usually just one stripper) on the weekends to draw the punters in. Check local listings, but most commonly I have seen promotions from Complices Spa (Tesaquillo) and Perseus (Santa Helenita).

There have been a few articles published in Medellín in the local papers (in spanish). Basically the trail has gone cold...there are no publicly known events since July 2022. The office of the alcaldía of Medellín does has an advertising campaign visible in local gay bars and businesses, online, and in social media warning men of this potential danger while using hookup apps. You might even see these ads while cruising Grindr or Hornet while here.

This was published in a newsletter here that I receive. Up to date listing of organizations and groups where you can practice Spanish/English with interested parties in Medellín. https://medellingles.substack.com/p/language-exchange-in-medellin

So many have pointed out my error -- thank you --that the other location was on Calle 1 Sur (not 14) and I was informed tonight over drinks that this location is no more. So we are down to 1.5 Love Moteles in El Poblado, but I would expect that to change quickly given the differencesI am seeing in the neighbourhood this year.
