Just keeping an open kind and glad I did đ I canât speak for you, but for me a lot has changed. You remind me of the people who were in denial about the decline of Sunnee. Here it is the opposite. The place is growing, and the bars are finding their niche. Each spot has its own thing going on now, and the area is shifting from pure randomness to something more settled and defined. However, I do wish the whole âshowâ elements that attract straight tourists were a bit more separated from the sleazier side, the way we used to have Sunnee and Boystown as distinct areas. If I had to name one negative point, that would be it.

I have not spoken to any of the boys. But I can tell you that it felt like old times to me. For example, M bar had a lot of boys inside and outside. I'm sure others might know where they were from. But again, I was impressed by how lively JC was and had a great time talking with new and old friends. A little over two years ago I left Thailand for the last time and it was straight up boring in all three hot spots. With my medical tasks almost completed I'll be discovering all that Pattaya has to offer real soon, and I'm pretty optimistic.

It is all bars together what make JC. I've only been once since here in Pattaya but I was pleasantly surprised. I'd be happy with a simple host bar. JC is slowly filling up and I've seen enough cuties and some board members.

What was the name of this bar... City Boys maybe?

If you would walk up the stairs between "Left" Dreamboys and "right" Soho, Dynamite was on the right side, which means it was above Soho. -
That is true but in 25 years, I have never taken season into consideration. I used to be desperate to get back as soon as possible when I had to leave. The weather was the same, no mater which bar you were in. Now I am a bit older, this might make a big difference. My last time I was there from March till September. Let's see if the coming 6 months are an improvement.

I saw the video...it is at the end. There is a lot wrong with his behaviour but asking the Young lady to stand up, then asking her to explain herself, only then to scold her for standing up and speaking. We need this too:

That reminded me of a video on YouTube i saw a while ago.

Good and constructive post. If someone is being open in telling his story, he can probably do without "I told you so" and ridicule. I think that many of us learned the hard way, even after being warned. It's like a ride off passage...or a coming of age if you will. Mine was relatively cheap. I gave the boy 10k baht so he could go home after our visit together to Bangkok. After I gave him the money he went straight on a bus back to Pattaya. I guess that was his new home Live and learn for us all.

Very interesting! Beyond the videoâs content itself, the scale of this production must have been insane for its time. I will not give too many spoilers, but I think we can all agree with the statement made around 3:33 in the video đ Lastly, I spent some time discussing with ChatGPT who the young princes at the end might be. They were most likely not His Majesty King Ananda Mahidol (Rama VIII) or His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great (Rama IX), as both were still very young and living in Switzerland at that time. ChatGPT suggests they could possibly have been from the Sukhumbhand / Paribatra or Rangsit / Prayoonsak family lines, which included boys of that age who often took part in palace ceremonies.

I wonder if not mentioning DJ Station or GOD was a conscious choice.

What fresh hell is this. Hahaha, I never heard of that but I just saw a video and they use the term "Walking Street" very loosely. Family after family with little children in tow en chaotic traffic. Interesting nonetheless.

Here is a video.

Sunnee used to be far less appealing to tourists. Back then, most visitors went through Boys Town to catch a show, while the ones in Sunnee were probably a bit too wild. Jomtien Complex has turned into more of a spectacle, where you can already see plenty just by walking past without even going inside a bar. The mix of gogo bars and host bars in Sunnee was actually quite nice if you ask me. There were lots of options, yet the area still felt small and personal. It had this little-island vibe where, aside from the occasional Arab walking thrrough, it was mostly regular punters who were there. JC, on the other hand, promotes itself as the âgay walking street,â which draws in plenty of curious tourists who just want to look around. Iâm not sure thatâs a good thing even from a cashflow point of view. A big change between JC now and Sunnee back then is the presence of cameras. Everyone films everything, and the bar owners seem fine with it. In the old days, Boys Town already felt less intimate than Sunnee, and JC feels even less so. Having said that, I am happy that JC is there and I'm sure It will be great fun the coming years. Having the right expectations is what matters.

I think it were different years. The earliest I saw was 2011.

Maybe this already has been uploaded before, if yes, well for the people who missed it đ

I think people are too afraid about perception and want to be liked. If you would say, "well, the normal price is 600, this includes kissing etc...the boy didn't want to kiss and there was no chemistry, but I'll give him the 600 and walk away" I can get into that. Chalk it up as a lesson learned. But after such an experience, why would you pay double the normal price? That doesn't make sense to me at all. Doesn't that go for anything you buy in life? Name any situation where you would pay double after a dissatisfactory experience. Can we do what we want with our money? Yes, of course we can. But since this is an open forum, can't we have an opinion about it and say so? I find it interesting that throughout this thread you've freely offered advice about how to select boys and even characterized the opposing view as "scroogy," but when others share their perspective on tipping practices, suddenly it becomes "other people's money" and we're just bystanders who can't assess the situation. Seems like we should all be able to share our views on an open forum, including opinions on whether rewarding poor service helps or hurts everyone in the long run.

Björn AndrĂ©sen, the Swedish actor best known for his breakout role in the 1971 film Death in Venice, has died aged 70. At 15, AndrĂ©sen was cast in Italian director Luchino Viscontiâs Death in Venice, based on Thomas Mannâs novella, in which he played Tadzio, a beautiful boy with whom an older man, played by Dirk Bogarde, becomes obsessed. Visconti called AndrĂ©sen âthe most beautiful boy in the worldâ in the press, a title which stuck â much to the dismay of AndrĂ©sen, who would later speak of how his negative experience working with Visconti affected the rest of his life... https://www.theguardian.com/film/2025/oct/27/bjorn-andresen-swedish-actor-dies-aged-70

I am not sure I understand any of this. What are the signs you are hoping for? Some people are shy and will not look at you no matter what. Others play the horny, in love, or what ever act they put on and the service can still be bad. Hit or miss...but one thing I would never do is blame myself. @vinapu we don't have to be cheap to expect to get what we pay for. If I am not happy with the service I am not paying double for the experience. All it does is reward bad behavior. and the next lucky guy will be treated the same.

I might have read it wrong, but the first part of your post sounded a bit like a reflection on Thai society leading into the real question of whether you could have your beer, which is of course a fair concern. Thatâs what prompted my sarcastic reaction. As for the comparison, every country relates to its royal family in its own way. In places like the Netherlands or the UK, the tone and boundaries around public discussion are simply different. Anyway, Iâm there in two weeks myself, so Iâll just take things as they come. Iâll blend in, wear black, and let the locals set the tone. -

Then you wouldn't mind a 30 day shutdown of the entertainment industry I guess. -
Medellin airport targeting single male travelers and denying entry
iendo replied to frazzle's topic in Gay Colombia
Seems like a normal U.S.-style secondary check to me. Nothing close to the full-on searches, long detentions, or âcome back tomorrowâ treatment plenty of travellers get when they land in the States. Welcome to the real world. Same story everywhere: a lot of regular people get blamed for things they never supported. Many Americans are catching the same kind of heat now. Sad times, really.
