  1. I'm attracted to masculine men. Lady boys do nothing for me
  2. Probably GoldMember has already booked his accommodation, but I would like to share my accommodation experience. Agoda has been a lifesaver for me. When I am in Bangkok I alternate my accommodation between Silom area and On Nut, where I like to go to a famous gym there. Last year in the low season I planned my itinerary according to the prices on Agoda. When there was a special deal, I would book Quarter Silom and occasionally Tarntawan, when QS was a lot more expensive. The weekends made the prices skyrocket in Silom, so I would go back for a few days to On Nut, which is considerably cheaper. This year I did the same, even though I suspected that the time of the year might catch me out. But, no, I was shocked to discover that if I played my cards right, I could get great deals if I booked according to the prices (which could vary considerably), and used any Agoda enticements. Ok, I don't use American currency, but to put things in perspective, I got accommodation at Quarter Silom for between $US70-75 a night. Now that's not too bad, when you consider they have a gym, steam room, sauna, swimming pool, rooftop sunbathing and close proximity to the scene. You can also get a breakfast buffet for 245 baht and there is a good selection. So, if you can put up with a fairly poky room, I think it's value for money. And you never have a hassle taking a guy to your room. I always book Quarter Saladaeng at the beginning of my holiday, as it helps me to unwind after a long trip and it's close to Lumpini Park.
  3. From the information given in this thread, I understood it would be opening on Sunday, so I went along to check it out. People must have thought who is this weirdo wandering backwards and forwards. One of the Tawan boys was negative about his boss and I know that some of the boys had already left Atlas to return to Tawan. Last year I suggested to the boss that they needed to advertise the times of the shows, etc. Anyway, the sign is up now and I guess it's just a matter of time
  4. In the interest of doing research for this board, and completely not for any sense of self gratification on my part, I decided to amend my travel plans and report back on this auspicious occasion, ie the opening of the White Cat bar. So I arrived at Patpong at 8pm and had my usual chicken and basil rice from a stall with young ladies who are really delightful and always know what my menu choice is. And from there it was back and forth to check out the bar. There was a single chair at the bottom of the stairs, but I never saw anyone sitting on it. Sometimes the door was open and sometimes it was closed. Looking back, I guess I should have just walked up the stairs just to be nosey and try to find out what was going on. Anyway, I left at 10 30pm, but hopefully when I return to Bangkok, it will have already been officially opened. It is on the left hand side of Patpong, walking up from Silom and is discreetly located between 2 "pussy" bars. Atlas should have been a winner. From what I have heard it was mismanaged.
  5. Thanks for the recommendation Olddaddy. It certainly has great reviews and seems good value. What I like about QS is that I get upgraded more often than not, when available, which is a real bonus.
  6. Hey, Durian. I wonder if you gave arrived at Quarter Saladaeng yet. If you are interested, there are orchestral concerts in Lumpini Park at 530pm on Sundays. I've always enjoyed staying at QS and I hope you have an enjoyable stay.
  7. I frequent both Pattaya and Bangkok. Pattaya is easier on the pocket in many ways, Jomtien Beach is good for the soul and, besides, my nephew married a Thai lady from Pattaya. Bangkok equally has so many advantages, but my heart is with the muscle boys, so I spend more time in Bangkok than anywhere else.
  8. I agree with Than Tawan for a selection of muscle boys. Other forum members endorse Arena for muscle massage. I haven't been there yet, but plan to on my next visit
  9. Whenever I have stayed at the Tarntawan, I have requested back rooms (looking towards Silom), as they are surprisingly quiet). The breakfasts weren't as good as Quarter Silom, but you can always pop over to QS or Foodland for breakfast, anyway. I haven't stayed at Surawong 56, but I used their laundry last year and the lady at reception was absolutely lovely and she couldn't have been more helpful.
  10. Could this become a pinned post? It would be great for members planning to come next year and beyond
  11. Thank you jimmie50 IMHO you have hit the nail on the head. From my maybe limited understanding, and having brought this up with a couple of the barboys, I imagine that most of the takings remain in management's pockets. Of course there could be an advantage to giving a sob story to a client in order to try to obtain a few more hundred baht, but I am sure that without being offed, you will not be getting a satisfactory financial reward.
  12. If you can handle the heat, Quarter Saladaeng is certainly within walking distance of the bars. I have had very good rates there too when booking through Agoda. Quarter Silom has the advantage of being just a hop, skip and a jump away from my preferred bars, but I find the restaurant and pool areas quite sterile there and I much prefer the layout at Quarter Saladaeng. I have found their restaurant staff to be very friendly too.
  13. I have stayed at Quarter Saladaeng a few times and have been upgraded twice. The first time I had a separate bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a lounge area. It was a bit of an anticlimax to be in a regular room on the next visit. I enjoy their breakfasts, even though some of the board members here are not quite as enthusiastic. I like the ambience of QS too. It's nice to be able to take your breakfast outside and sit by the swimming pool if you want to.
  14. A great description of your adventures in Pattaya, sudoxi. Thanks very much. You certainly made the most of your time. May I please ask what app you used to translate from Russian? I'm after a good app to use in Thailand. Cheers.
  15. Thanks very much for the post, Shax. It's bittersweet to get the report about Tawan and Atlas. I had high hopes for Atlas, as the lineups were good when I visited, so it's disappointing that they seem to not be living up to the hype. However, it's good to know that Tawan has been invigorated. I have intermittent contact with someone who has ditched Atlas to return to Tawan. He said that the manager at Atlas is "crazy". Shax, are you able please to name the bodybuilder you offed from Tawan. I offed 2 bodybuilders from Atlas and I am wondering if either of them are now at Tawan.
