There's talk on TikTok and Facebook that Medellin airport is singling out males traveling alone from the United States, pulling them aside for secondary screening, inspecting phones, denying entry, etc.
I don't know how true this is. Supposedly it's to combat pedophiles but really anything showing you intend to have sex or hookup there is being used as a reason to deny entry. 

I've been to Xi'an once: 1980.  Because there wasn't a foreign tourism network developed yet the small group I traveled with was housed in a military/VIP guesthouse compound.  As I left the compound and walked the streets nearby people gathered around me.  Several students of English spoke with me and the others around me were so impressed with them.  I had a good camera with me and let people look through the lens, and they were fascinated.  I also had a Polaroid camera, took a couple of photos of individuals and there was quite a commotion when others viewed them.  It was as if they'd never seen a photo of themselves before - which I don't think they had.  The Terracotta Warriors were stunningly impressive.

They say that they have so many guys messaging them, some of them wealthy younger guys from the Middle East that the money is expected, and not really a bonus. One guy I did meet up with told me his normal clients were similar to a good looking, 26 year old closeted guy from Saudi Arabia he met recently. The guy didn't even want sex and paid him through the nose. For younger guys at least, it seems like supply and demand are so out of whack in Bangkok that it's more akin to normal dating, not prostitution. 
I should have realized that when I had guys hitting me up to pay for sex (which rarely happens anywhere else). I also see very average looking guys advertising themselves as MBs... for sure a seller's market here. I'll check out the bars and clubs this weekend.

I've had really bad luck using the apps here, probably even less than in the states. Definitely less than in Latin America. The few MBs I come across are pretty standoffish, difficult to schedule with, etc. In general it seems like there are not many MBs. I've noticed the same thing on HeeSay. I'm into twinks so maybe that's the problem.

Many had stuff in their bios about no foreigners. This is for free guys btw, obviously not escorts, which is most of my meet ups.

I recently got into this hobby, and I'm still overwhelmed by the info (especially in the Thailand section), so I'd love some input from the experts here.
I blocked out two weeks at the end of June and beginning of July. I saw a good deal on RT business class in and out of Manila, and pulled the trigger. My idea was to spend a few days in Manila, fly to Bangkok, and stay there for about a week before returning to Manila and flying home. Now I'm wondering if I put enough thought and research into this and I'm reconsidering Colombia (where I've been twice over the past few months) or another destination like Brazil. 
I generally pay 30% of the time and have sex for free 70% of the time. This time I want to dip my toes in the saunas and bathhouses, since I've never done that before. Even more hedonistic options like an orgy or something would be a plus. I prefer twinks / college aged guys.
Here are my thoughts. Am I missing any important pros / cons of each? Is there one destination that I should be prioritizing over the others?
Thailand (Bangkok or other cities):
Pros: I hear the bath house scene is great; I've been to Bangkok and there's amazing food and a ton of stuff to do; I think English proficiency is higher than Latin America 
Cons: I personally find Thai guys a little less attractive than Filipino / Latin American guys; there seems to be limited guys in general when I check Grindr Explore and Rent Men (is there a Milleroticos equivalent for Bangkok?)
Philippines (Manila):
Pros: Very dense; English speaking; Filipino guys are very attractive; a ton of guys on Grindr readily advertise escorting and the prices are dirt cheap; I've heard Filipinos are generally pretty receptive to white guys, moreso than Colombians and Brazilians
Cons: It seems like the bathhouse scene is underwhelming; I've heard Manila as a city doesn't have much to offer for either food or activities 
Colombia (Medellin):
Pros: Very attractive men; shorter flight
Cons: Have been here before; the bathhouses and paid sex places seem more limited than SE Asia; a smaller population so theoretically fewer options; my Spanish is basic; negotiating with guys off of Milleroticos and Grindr can be a chore; maybe TMI but too many guys I slept with in Colombia did not prepare well for sex
Brazil (Rio and/or SP):
 
Pros: Very attractive men; supposedly a great bathhouse culture; beautiful beaches
Cons: I don't speak any Portuguese; the options on Skokka and some of the escort websites look more limited than what I think is available in SE Asia

Change of plans....I got hooked on Colombia webcam sites....going to Bogota and Medellin with  1 night in Panama on my way to the US. Got a one way ticket on Copa from Medellin to Panama, overnight then Panama to Boston for $205 usd.....cheaper flights for me to take this trip than to go to the US from Mexico directly 😲

This is exactly my type... no shortage of these in Medellin and Bogota. Grindr has a ton of options.

No real tips or tricks. I found a standalone house in AirBnB in Modelio, which was fine.

Maybe a third of the guys I contacted lost interest or wanted some exorbitant price (1 million pesos) to fuck without one. A few others were mollified once I showed them my PREP / DoxyPEP bottles. 
One guy I met up with on Grindr said that it's very difficult for Colombians to access PREP and he said it was unusual to meet Colombian guys who were taking it.
