TBH, I was under the impression that Japanese are punctual, polite and organized. Many popular activities actually require advance booking (e.g. Ghibli park in Nagoya, Nintendo world admission timing in USJ etc) A lot of daytime activities that I booked for my upcoming trip were booked few weeks or even a month or 2 in advance.
