  1. I have One-Two Call. I am not in Gay Thailand at the moment. I need access to my phone for some text messages. I am in USA. I can't seem to get it to work. Do they work outside of Thailand or is that something special I should have taken care of when I was in LOS?
  2. This Friday night, Jan 22nd, we will have a meet up for Go Go boys at MJ's in Silverlake around 9:30 - 10:00 PM. They are supposed to have about 19 dancers there so it should be fun to watch the boys and to meet other guys on the forum. For those interested, some of us will go to The Flying Leap a few blocks away around 8:00 PM for dinner. It is a gay own restaurant with reasonable prices. If you want to meet up, let us know so we can make reservations as they often fill up on Fridays. We need a head count so either post here or PM me to let me know you are going and how many. I hope some of you are able to make the evening and look forward to meeting some of you!
  3. Back in July 2008, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a new policy (PDF) regarding searches of documents and electronic devices at the border. CBP asserts it has the right to conduct these searches of any traveler — citizens and noncitizen alike "absent individualized suspicion," — meaning no suspicion of wrongdoing is even required to conduct a search. Despite an update to the policy in August 2009 (PDF), everything from the photos of your kids on your camera phone to your company's trade secrets on your laptop, is fair game. The ACLU feels that this policy violates travelers' First and Fourth Amendment rights. So we filed a Freedom of Information Act request for records concerning the criteria for carrying out the searches, how many travelers had been subjected to the searches, the number of devices retained and the reasons for their retention. Today we released the first batch of information we got back from the CBP. After reviewing 863 pages of documents, here's what we know: * In a span of just nine months, CBP officials searched over 1,500 electronic devices belonging to travelers. * Cell phones were the most commonly searched and seized devices between October 2008 and June 2009. * Other types of devices that were searched and detained include digital cameras, thumb drives, hard drives, and DVDs. * Between July 2008 and June 2009, CBP transferred electronic files found on travelers' devices to third-party agencies (often to translate or decrypt what's on the device) almost 300 times. Over half the time, these unknown agencies asserted the right to retain or seize the transferred files. More than 80 percent of the transfers involved the CBP making copies of travelers' files. If you'd like to totally geek out on the data, check out these spreadsheets! Again, because no suspicion is required to do a search, it's not clear what CBP is looking for. As my former colleague Noam blogged in 2008: s the solution to search every laptop and cell phone, hoping to uncover an Outlook calendar entry that says "8 a.m.: Coffee and Bagel; 9 a.m.: Blow up Sears Tower?" An all-invasive approach that treats everyone like a suspect is not a smart trade-off for the miniscule chance that we'll catch a break like that. For those of you who travel across the border frequently, we have a few suggestions for how to keep those trade secrets (and pictures of your kids) private. http://www.aclu.org/blog/national-security/hard-numbers-behind-laptop-searches-border
  4. Friday 22nd works for me as well. Let's consider it a date! What time should we meet?
  5. I think too late to get done at this point. What about the next Friday night? Is that good for you?
  6. Pat Robertson is a fucking cock sucking, ball-less, limp prick! Fuck him in the ass with his BS!
  7. I am interested in building up my gay library and looking for some gay coming of age films. My favorite of all time is Beautiful Thing. I must have seen it 5 times in the small little Chelsea theater when it first came out and I also look my mother to see it when I came out to her. I guess it holds special meaning to me. Anyone else know of any great gay themed coming of age films?
  8. My heart goes out to those in Haiti. One of my first lovers was from there and I visited the country one time. It is a beautiful place, although very intolerant of gays. I hope the recover effort is fast and that the people are given as much help and assistance from the world as possible.
  9. True. I am sure his 450,000 bonus for winning almost put him there too.
  10. Thanks Steven. That is not a bad idea. We just hate sending out so many e-mails as we don't like to bother people and don't want members to think we are going to send them stuff daily. But, you are right, it is most likely the best solution. Thanks.
  11. Thanks Stu. I loved that scene. Damm. She does have a potty mouth doesn't she? I can so relate to her! This last season of Dexter was amazing. It got off to a slow start, but man, when it got going, it was really really going. The end shocked the hell out of me. I NEVER expected that! NEVER.
  12. Nope. I am waiting to hear from Townie on when he can make plans to meet. I have yet to set a date.
  13. The bars and clubs in Sunee Plaza are having a party on February 14. They say: Fun, Food and Frolics! Sounds tasty to me. Check out: http://suneeplaza.info for more info.

  17. I met up with TomCal last night in LA for drinks at Mickey's. I was running a bit late and didn't get to spend much time there but there were some hot gogo boys on stage at 7PM. When we walked back by around 10:30 or so there were more. When I got there they had a young twink that I had met and raved about at Micky's the last time I was there. Once again, he made my heart go pitter patter! Also, walking on the same block I think there were at least 2 more bars with gogo boys. The late night crowd at Rage was HOT. VERY many sexy guys in line and in the outside box. I will have to go back and just hang out in the area one night. Thanks to TomCal for suggesting the meet up and it was nice to finally meet the Beguigled man himself. Both were a true pleasure to chat with. Thanks guys for showing me a bit of your city.
  18. I am so disappointed with the Senate, I keep getting their Senate ReElection campaign money requests and I have asked to be taken off the list. I won't give any of them one dollar! They have royally screwed this up. IMHO This was a once in a lifetime chance for real change and it goes to show that it will be politics as usual in DC.
  19. Great article. Thanks for sharing.
  20. Congrats to Alabama. It was a great game to watch! I wore my red Crimson Tide shirt and socks just for the occasion! Roll Tide!
  21. I have always enjoyed ending my night here. I like the atmosphere and the crowd. I also like the food and it is very inexpensive. You are never rushed to eat and the group is very laid back. I also have never been pressured here to buy a guy a drink. Lastly, I met one of my favorite guys in all of Rio here! I thought I was going to marry him. I left him a wad of cash when I left and he put it in the bank. He called a week later to say his money was stolen. I asked him about the bank, and he said it was stolen from the bank. I guess I have a lot to learn of the Brazilian Banking system.
  22. Front page of Bangkokpost today. Very odd.
  23. I agree. But, many of the Gaiety Crowd would not go to Stella's and vice versa. I loved them both.
