LOL. I come from a long line of Southern fishermen. A bit of truth mixed with a dash of bullshit to make things sound a bit more savory. The family always said I'd either be a preacher or a lawyer. Both know how to spin their version.

You would be amazed at the number that writes checks and that use credit cards. Accepting credit cards more than doubled the amount of calls we had. When long time trips went out, the majority wanted to pay part with check or CC. I never once had a check bounced. When Paypal was easily used for adult businesses, there were also many that wanted to use that account.

I watched and enjoyed the Youtube debates last night. I thought the format was nice and some good questions were asked. I thought a few of the candidates really stood out. http://youtube.com/debates On the Gay Marriage Question, my hero, Kucinich was the one who gave the anwer I wanted to hear. The rest just gave lip service. The first link above has the debate questions and responses. Take a look if you did not watch it live. Is this the wave of the future for debates? Also, many candidates make commercials just for YouTube. Isn't it interesting how the candidates are going after those of us that frequent the Internet?

Possibly. Not sure because I have not been there. I was never good at records. Only kept 7 days of history and then all was deleted. As I am old and ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder diagnoised) I would never had made a good witness.

I too am of the opinion that those who hire hookers are OK and should be afforded complete privacy. Having run an escort service for many years, I never once revealed a clients information to anyone including friends and family. It is just not the way it should be done. When you use a service, you deserve TOTAL prlvacy IMHO. I do think it is hypotrical to speak from your mouth about morality and then hire hookers and have orgies when no one is looking. However, is it possible to get elected otherwise? How many Senators would we have if they had been porn stars or admitted they hired hookers or love to smoke weed? I know I would vote for them but would the majority? I loved the fact that our ex president got head from a hot chick. It made me want to vote for him as opposed to throw him out of office.

Several thousand protesters opposed to Thailand's military-backed government have clashed with police in the capital, Bangkok. The crowd staged a rally outside the house of Prem Tinsulanonda, a senior adviser to Thailand's king. The protesters say Mr Prem was behind a bloodless coup which removed former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Rocks and bottles of water were thrown at police, in the most violent demonstration since the 2006 coup. Protesters, mostly supporters of the ousted Mr Thaksin, have been holding nightly rallies in Bangkok since early June. Clashes broke out after they marched to demonstrate outside Mr Prem's house on Sunday evening and anti-riot police tried to disperse them. Several people, including police officers, were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Bangkok police officials said they would issue arrest warrants for the protest leaders on Monday. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/6911060.stm

Well, no promises yet. Trying to plan the trip but it is not easy as all the dates are confusing. Pride parade is in July but the "official" parties are the week after. It seems to be a lot of confusion up there which is very sad as I really did think that for years, Montreal has the best group of gay organizers around. Black and Blue is always amazing and the other parties up there are great. Not sure why they are so messed up with this event.

The comedy fell short on making me laugh. I found it offensive and old. I hated the gay sterotypes and I hope that is NOT the way middle America sees us. The jokes mostly bombed and the funniest part was at the end when Lance Bass sang a song at a gay wedding. Save this movie for when you get a Free coupon from Blockbusters.

Last night at 12:01 AM I was in line with a ton of others to pick up the latest copy of Harry Potter. This is supposed to be the last book in the series. I have close family who are in their early teens who wanted the book at midnight and their parents did not want to take them so I loaded them up for a wait in line at midnight. It was so exciting for them as they have never gotten to do something like this before and they were so excited about the release. Apparently lines were forming all over the country for the release and the excitement was in the air. The location I went too played Harry Potter trivia and if you answered a question right, you got a free movie pass. I have loved all the movies they have made so far but the books are by far the best. And, from the point of view that reading really does help young people succeed in every job they want, it was fantastic to see them all so excited about a book that weights a ton and thicker than any book I was assigned when I was in high school.

Also, if anyone has any links to the sites and parties up there, please let us know. I know of: www.bbcm.org

Well, it has been a slow gossip week I guess. But, I got an e-mail from Stef today and he has finally arrived back in the USA and gotten the amazing Iphone. How do I know this? His e-mail says at the end: Sent on My Iphone. Benji has been letting his hair grow out longer. His new pics on the site are cool. Frankly, I love a man with long hair and all my ex's have longer hair. Humm. I have been talking to a boy on Flirt and have grown attached to him. Eastern Europe seems like a nice place doesn't it?

Anyone heading up north for the great event this year? I have not decided yet and found conflicting reports as to when things are. Anyone with the know?

I agree. Having flown into that from Rio city it was so much easier to get around and to the hotel. Sao Paulo is one of the largest cities on earth. They need as many airports as NYC or at least 2 really good ones IMHO.

Poor Clinton got a blowjob and a vote for impeachment. What has that good ol Southern boy Bush done to deserve such a fate? http://telluridegateway.com/articles/2007/...news/news02.txt Plus, I'm sure you have heard this one but I find it amuzing. GEORGE W BUSH IN HELL George Bush has a heart attack and dies. He goes to hell, where the devil is waiting for him. "I don't know what to do here," says the devil. "You are on my list but I have no room for you. You definitely have to stay here, so I'll tell you what I'm going to do. I've got three folks here who weren't quite as bad as you. I'll let one of them go, but you have to take their place. I'll even let YOU decide who leaves." George thought that sounded pretty good, so he agreed. The devil opened the first room: in it was Ted Kennedy in a large pool of water. He kept diving in and surfacing empty-handed, over and over and over. Such was his fate in hell. "No!" George said. "I don't think so. I'm not a good swimmer and I don't think I could do that all day long." The devil led him to the next room: in it was Tony Blair with a sledgehammer and a room full of rocks. All he did was swing that hammer, time after time after time. "No, I've got this problem with my shoulder. I would be in constant agony if all I could do was break rocks all day!" commented George. The devil opened a third door. In it, George saw Bill Clinton, lying on the floor with his arms staked over his head, and his legs staked in spread eagle pose. Bent over him was Monica Lewinsky, doing what she does best. George Bush looked at this in disbelief for a while, and finally said, "Yeah, I can handle this!" The devil smiled and said... "OK, Monica, you're free to go!"

Having flown into that airport many times, I take my hat off and pray for the 200 plus victims of this tragic event. I love Brazil and its people and this is truly a horrible tragedy. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/18/world/am...nyt&emc=rss

Flynt has always been on the cuff of controversy. He revels in it. Now, he says he has 30 more names that may drop from the prostitue scandle. Who are they? I expect Flynt will keep us guessing for a while. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRIuw_KXdvU

Spending a great deal of time in Thailand, I grew to know Red Bull very well. It orginates there. Also, all the sauna boys in Brazil want one when you get them a drink. Why? Well, now we know. What's Inside: Red Bull Patrick Di Justo Meat Sugar, Caffeine, and Bile! Glucose Like most popular soft drinks, Red Bull is largely sugar water. But don't count on its glucose to "give you wings," as the ad says. Multiple studies have debunked the so-called sugar high. Taurine Also known as 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid, taurine was originally isolated from bull bile in 1827. Now made synthetically, it is the magical elixir said to bring out the kitesurfing extremophile in any Web-surfing nerd. Taurine's actual effects, while not as drastic as the hype, are pretty wide-ranging, even from the amount found in a single can: Not only is it an inhibitory neurotransmitter (in some cases acting as a mild sedative) and an age-defying antioxidant, it even has the potential to steady irregular heartbeats. Glucuronolactone Internet rumors claimed this was a Vietnam-era experimental drug that causes brain tumors. Luckily, that's not true. But don't crumple up your tinfoil hat yet — hardly anyone has looked into exactly what this stuff does. So little research has been done on glucuronolactone (and most of it 50 years ago) that almost all information about it is mere rumor. Users generally believe it fights fatigue and increases well-being, but that could turn out to be bull, too. Caffeine Ah, here are Red Bull's wings. All the things this drink is supposed to do for you — increase concentration and reaction speed, improve emotional state, and boost metabolism — are known effects of this white powder, a distant cousin of cocaine. Niacin (niacinamide) Also known as vitamin B-3, niacin increases so-called good cholesterol (HDL) by preventing the formation of triglycerides, making it a terrific cholesterol drug. Unfortunately, there isn't enough niacin here to have this benefit. And it's not even pure enough to give you the mild head rush dubbed the "niacin flush." Sodium citrate Commonly used as a preservative in soft drinks and spreadable cheeses, sodium citrate also helps convert glucose into lactic acid during exercise, producing a measurable effect on athletic performance. In at least one test, it shaved an average of 17 seconds off a 5K run. Inositol A carbohydrate found in animal muscle (sometimes called "meat sugar"), inositol is turning out to be a wonder drug that significantly reduces depression, panic attacks, agoraphobia, and obsessive- compulsive disorder. It might even be what makes whole grains effective cancer fighters. Instead of being a bit player in Red Bull (you'd need to drink as many as 360 cans a day to get its benefits), inositol probably deserves a drink of its own. http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/m...5-07/st_redbull

With the campaign season kicking off and the candidates working hard to raise funds, some candidates have already dropped out of the race as they have not raised enough money to continue. McCain has had to cut his staff in recent days. Both of the 2 front running Democratic candidates have raised over 30 million in the last reporting period. I am surprised that Obama has been able to keep up with the Clinton machine. Very impressive in my opinion. Does all this money give a gadge of who the party is leaning toward? and who will get the nomination in the end? Of course my favorite candidate has raised very little money and is the only one who is truly for peace immediately and has the voting record to show this. Do any members here get involved in the fundraising of the parties? Or, do you give to your favorite only?

The worst movie that I have seen in a long time is Delta Farce. I was coaxed into seeing this with a friend last night. I was not excited about it but I never walk out of movies. Well, never say never. The comedy was not funny. It was stupid which I expected. But, when you can see scenes with the microphone in the top of the screen to catch sound, you know you are in for a real treat. Am I just getting too old to understand this humor? Or, did anyone actually sit through this movie and enjoy it. I walked out after about 20 minutes.

Thanks Marc. It was such a life-altering event for me that my entire perspective on life changed. I was the only one in my family to leave home (area I grew up) and live a big city life. I still remember the first time I told my mother I was gay. It was Thanksgiving Eve and I was 27 years old. She took it as well as she could I guess. We went the next day to the Village in NYC to eat a Thanksgiving dinner at a nice place after the parade. Men were walking by holding hands and when my mother got a feel for the area, she looked at me and said, "You are home how aren't you?" Instinctively, she knew that my life was better where I was and never once asked me to move to her hometown again. She knew I was not only happier but also much better off. As far as some of you who question the choices one makes, I think when the time comes; you are put into situations for which you are totally unprepared. Some rise to the occasion and some do not. It was an easy choice for me as I had such a wonderful mother. I wonder what position I would have taken if I had a horrible mother. I don't know the answer. I do know that often men hold bitter grudges to the end and not sure I would have risen to the occasion if I had been in a different situation.

I think perhaps the messages only appear when a new message is sent to you after the implementation of the new system. It did not take the old messages to the box. The goal of this is to eventually to havre on integrated system. This new message is just one part of that.

I really don't think that always has to be the choice. I do think both are possible. I know it was in my situation but I had a mother that was not only very accepting of me being gay but of me dating someone half my age. I do think she was exceptional and wonderful and I was happy and blessed that she was so accepting of my life. I can not count of both hands the number of boys that were thrown out of their house after they "came out" to mama. Sad but this still happens. Perhaps times are changing. Perhaps they are not changing at the rate we would like them to change. My mom passed away a few years back and both me and my straight sister took care of her in the end. There were no arguments. No bitterness. We were both willing to quit our jobs and do whatever was needed to take care of her so we could be with her at the end. The end was hard and I ended up selling a business I loved to take care of her and I have never once regretted that. I did give up a lot of the gay life when she was ill but it was my choice and I did so because I wanted to be as close to her as long as I could. I was a good son. But, as anyone in the family can tell you, I was the biggest pain in the ass in the family. The queer who moved to NYC and loved to smoke weed and go to bars and clubs. Not exactly the kind of kid most southern belle's wanted as a son. Luckily, mine did and she joined us in the bars on more than one occassion.

MOTHER LEARNS LATE IN LIFE TO ACCEPT GAY SON AS HE IS DEAR ABBY: My husband and I raised our two sons and two daughters. One son and both daughters married well. Our other son, "Neil," is gay. He and his partner, "Ron," have been together 15 years, but Neil's father and I never wanted to know Ron because we disapproved of their lifestyle. When I was 74, my husband died, leaving me in ill health and nearly penniless. No longer able to live alone, I asked my married son and two daughters if I could "visit" each of them for four months a year. (I didn't want to burden any one family, and thought living out of a suitcase would be best for everyone.) All three turned me down. Feeling unwanted, I wanted to die. When Neil and Ron heard what had happened, they invited me to move across country and live with them. They welcomed me into their home, and even removed a wall between two rooms so I'd have a bedroom with a private bath and sitting room -- although we spend most of our time together. They also include me in many of their plans. Since I moved in with them, I have traveled more than I have my whole life and seen places I only read about in books. They never mention the fact that they are supporting me, or that I ignored them in the past. When old friends ask how it feels living with my gay son, I tell them I hope they're lucky enough to have one who will take them in one day. Please continue urging your readers to accept their children as they are. My only regret is that I wasted 15 years. -- GRATEFUL MOM http://www.uexpress.com/dearabby/?uc_full_date=20070713

Ankor Wat not included in the new 7 wonders of the world
TotallyOz replied to a topic in Gay Thailand
I too think it sad Angor was not listed. The group that did this is now doing the 7 Natural Wonders of the World. Seems like they liked the results of the first one. How about the 7 natural wonder boys of Pattaya? That would be a good contest.
