  1. by The Associated Press Posted: August 31, 2007 - 5:00 pm ET (Washington) A new HIV-fighting drug from Merck & Co. appears superior to options for patients who have stopped responding to available drugs, federal regulators said Friday. The Food and Drug Administration said Merck's studies of Isentress show the drug is safe and effective to treat HIV patients who have developed a resistance to other medications. Roughly 1 million people in the U.S. are HIV positive, according to the Centers for Disease Control. FDA has cleared 30 different HIV treatments since 1987, and they are typically prescribed in combination to suppress the virus, which cripples the immune system and causes death if not treated. 3. RUTHERFORD COUNTY, NC MAN IMPLICATED IN DOUBLE MURDER- SUICIDE RUTHERFORD COUNTY, NC MAN IMPLICATED IN DOUBLE MURDER- SUICIDE Former head of the Georgia Republican Party, Ralph Gonzalez (39), David Abrami (36) and Robert Drake(30), were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide in Orlando, FL last week. Officials say the three had been dead for several days before their bodies were discovered. Police discovered the crime scene acting on a phone call from North Carolina expressing concern over one of the three men. The call reportedly came from an unidentified female friend of Abrami. The Associated Press reports that Robert Drake, of Rutherford County, NC was the gunman. Newspaper reports describe Drake as a friend of Gonzalez and Abrami. All three men were active in Republican politics. Gonzalez was an influential political consultant, who owned Strategum Group, and managed Congressman Tom Feeny’s 2002 campaign. The house was owned by Gonzalez; Abrami lived with Gonzalez. Newspapers and political websites have been abuzz with posts from friends and associates of Gonzalez, who speculate the motive for the murder-suicide as being a gay love triangle gone wrong. Officials have yet to release details about a possible motive. Another, more sinister motive has been put forth by several sources, including CrimeBlog.us. Reporters there say that Drake was associated with the owner of a gay escort service in the Virginia Beach area. The owners of that escort service are facing charges that they murdered the owner of a rival company catering to the gay community. A source for the Crime Blog reporter states: “My solid, but unconfirmed, sources say that Drake was trying to hit Gonzalez up for cash to raise money to defend a kid (Harlow Cuadra) who is on trial for murder up in Pennsylvania. The 26 year old “kid” ran a gay escort and porn business in Virginia Beach and may have had several Republican clients–Drake being one. (See www.norfolkmaleescorts.com and www.boybatter.com). . . My sources say Drake may have approached Gonzalez for funds for Cuadra’s defense, threatening to blow the lid off everything by MAKING THE REPUBLICAN CLIENT LIST OF THE GAY ESCORT BUSINESS PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE.” http://crimeblog.us/?p=536#more-536 As the Crime Blog reporter rightly says, “we may never know what happened in that house”, but given the recent outings of several prominent gay Republicans (Former RNC National Field Director Dan Gurley, Jeff Gannon, former Rep. Mark Foley, Sen. Larry Craig, National College Republican Chairman Glenn Murphy, etc), a disturbing pattern may be emerging. Sources tell The North Carolina Conservative that Drake volunteered on several Republican campaigns in western North Carolina, and was an associate of Congressman Patrick McHenry. Gonzalez is also believed to have been associated with McHenry in the past. Since being elected, McHenry has attempted to insure that all elected officials in his district are his supporters and cronies. This has caused a very nasty political war of attrition in the 10th District. Sources say that Drake worked on these campaigns as a surrogate of McHenry. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available. -NCC http://www.northcarolinaconservative.com/i...&ucat=& Also, there is an interesting blog at: http://downwithtyranny.blogspot.com/2007/0...pocrite-to.html
  4. It is not over by a long shot but these tiny victories seem to get more and more. Let's hope the Iowa Supreme Court upholds the decision. I know it is unlikely but it is possible. Oz (CNN) -- An Iowa district court ruled Thursday that same-sex couples can marry based on the state constitution's guarantee of equal treatment, court documents show. The ruling was in response to a December 2005 lawsuit brought by six same-sex couples seeking to wed. They were denied marriage licenses and claimed such treatment violates equal-protection and due-process clauses in the Iowa constitution. The court also struck down a state law declaring valid marriages are only between a man and woman. The Iowa District Court for Polk County advances the case to the Iowa Supreme Court which will make a final decision on same-sex marriage, according to Lambda Legal, a gay and lesbian legal organization representing the couples. The 63-page ruling, written by Judge Robert Hanson states: "Couples, such as plaintiffs, who are otherwise qualified to marry one another may not be denied licenses to marry or certificates of marriage or in any other way prevented from entering into a civil marriage pursuant to Iowa Code Chapter 595 by reason of the fact that both persons compromising such a couple are of the same sex." The law describing marriage as between a man and a woman, "constitutes the most intrusive means by the state to regulate marriage. This statute is an absolute prohibition on the ability of gay and lesbian individuals to marry a person of their choosing," Hanson wrote. Lambda says the six couples are all in long-term relationship - one couple has been together for six years, another couple has been together for 17 years. "Three of the couples are raising children, others are planning families, and all want the responsibilities of marriage and the protections only marriage can provide," according to the organization. "We respectfully disagree with the court's decision, and we're going to ask for a stay," said Polk County Attorney John Sarcone. He said his office will examine whether it's best to file a motion to reconsider. But barring a change in the court's opinion, Sarcone will appeal the ruling. Co-counsel for the plaintiffs along with Lambda Legal, Dennis Johnson called the ruling "a significant step forward in recognizing the constitutional rights of all Iowans, and it's an amazing day for same-sex couples and their families all across Iowa." http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/law/08/30/iowa....iage/index.html
  5. Also, the real reason for my trip is that I am 7 pounds away from reaching the 100 pound weight loss goal that I had for myself. I could not think of a better place to get rid of the extra baggage than Rio. The hotel I am at is right on the beach so jogging is great and the pool is excellent. I have been swimming laps every day but it is fucking cold as ice. I am the only one in the pool when I swim. I asked the hotel clerk about the weather and she said this is very unusual for Rio and that they all have the sniffles because of this odd weather. For me, it is perfect: not too hot and not too cold. I may or may not make the 100 pound mark when I am here. I am trying but the food here gets in the way. I don't eat a lot but I do love the ham and cheese sandwiches that I find on the street places near 117. Cheese is so fattening that I know I should pass. They also have those delicious little chocolate balls with chocolate sprinkles. They are devine! If I make my 100 pounds while I am here, I'll celibrate by having 100 boys in 10 days. How is that for a treat? jk At my age, that is not possible without medical help.
  6. Damm. You have too good a memory. I am going to eat this weekend at Firecat and Kevin6969's favorite restaurant in Rio. Remember the name of that? Ahh. The Land of Smiles. I think the name is accurate. I also saw some great smiles yesterday. The big difference in here and Thailand is that the boys in Rio are much more agressive and know how to play the customer better than the Thai boys. Of couse, that does not stop me from supporting the BF in Thailand for 4 years now. I still consider him a twink but a bad ass twink. He has the smile and the body of a twink but his age is catching up to him. FYI: Marc, he is not 40 either. The guy in my hometown was an anomoly. Well, kinda. My tastes seem to have changed a bit since I have been exercising. I appreciate the muscles on a man much more than I did 8 months ago.
  7. Day 3 started out just horrible. I had some faxes and documents I needed printed to be signed and sent back to California. I decided to travel light on this trip and only brought 3 bags and I left my computer and scanner at my friend’s in NYC. I did not think I would need it here. However, I did and when I tried to print in the business center of my hotel we were unable to get the PDF files to print. We tried forever and no luck. I went to the mall in Barra Shopping and went to FINAC and bought a scanner/printer. I took a taxi there and back. It was not cheap. When I got to my room, I plugged in the computer and heard a pop. You guessed it. I plugged it into a 220 volt and the printer was 110. I though all of Brazil was 220. It is NOT. So, I blew the printer up. It did create a nice smell but that was about all to the fizz. I was so frustrated that I asked the lady in charge of Priority members to help. She did and let me print in the office area and their computer guy helped me print. I then faxed back to USA. The cost: 8R a page. I had to fax 28 pages. So, it was not a cheap event to get this done in Brazil. Lesson: Always take a printer/scanner with you on extended stays. Lesson: Always look at the instructions for anything BEFORE you plug things in, esp if you are in a foreign country. Lesson: When jogging on the beach trail, watch out for shit as they apparently do not have laws to make owners clean up the shit here. Lesson: Don’t look at boys playing soccer on the beach unless you want to get approached by one of them. Lesson: Don’t order hotel food that is not priced on the menu. My Club Sandwich and diet coke cost me 68R at the hotel. Lunch with my new friend was fabulous. It was quick and we ate in the mall. I had a good lunch just chatting with him and he said his family really enjoyed meeting me and wants me to come back. He said the boyfriend word and said that is what he hopes to fine. He is not looking for one night flings. Well, it was an almost perfect lunch. Perhaps I need to talk to my therapist about my commitment fears. Is it commitment fears or monogamy fears? I am not sure but I’ll have a great deal to discuss with a therapist one day. I went back to Point 202 to find the boy I was with on the first day. He was not there. I then went to Club 117 to find the boy I once fell in love with. He was not there. I then ended up at Corjinahs. I was there for 2 hours and did not see one single money boy or Gringo looking for them. Is this place still active? Was I just there on a bad night? I did stop by a bar that was about 100 people in the street watching the tele. They had a soccer game on and the cutest guys were all in the street. I tried to step up and blend in. I guess I am not a good blender. My boy for the day was a 28 year old muscle boy from 117. I saw him yesterday and thought he was sexy. I asked if he was versatile and he said no, activo only. About 20 minutes later he said I could fuck him just a little but slow and relaxing and not boom boom boom. I agreed. He was a lot of fun. We actually didn’t get to the fucking part as he was really good with oral and kissing. He has 3-year-old child and I liked the honesty he gave when I asked him questions. He also has a perfect Brazilian ass. Marc Anthony, please don’t expel me from the Twink Club just yet. There was a twink there I liked but did not get to see him. I’ll do better next time. Does anyone know the name of the new sauna something like Caligua? The address is: The Carcalla Club Lapa at 329-331 Mem de Sa, phone is 21/2232-8966.
I was told Pointe 202 was really slow as many of the boys moved to the new sauna. Anyone know anything about this? I had a great run along the beach today. The ocean was beating in the background. The boys were playing soccer on the beach. It was great to jog past all this excitement.
  8. Day 2 in Rio was much better than the first and the first one was fun. The rain was pouring hard all day today. It was chilly and cold. That is not something I am really used to down here. My tennis lesson was cancelled and the pool was freezing cold so instead of working out, I went to the mall. Fashion Mall is close to my hotel and that is where I went. I found some nice shirts for the boy I met yesterday and had to buy them for him and I found a few for myself. The guy in the store that waited on me was obviously as gay as I am and I am a stand out queer. We had a fun time chatting and he asked me out to eat with him after work. I agreed to go and was excited all day to meet him at night. After my shopping boredom again set in and I headed for Club 117. Today was the free room day so the place was packed. There were so many guys there that I could not keep count. However, I went to the restroom once and counted over 45 with red towels on (working boys). I have no idea how many had come and gone or were doing a programa. The Club has remodeled and the downstairs part is now a thing of the past. I am not sure if they are bring it back or not but there was no entrance there. I was able to find one of my favorite boys from the past, Jefferson, had moved to Spain. For those of you looking for one of the hottest, sexiest, nicest lads around and are in Barcelona, you must see Jefferson. He is in Attachment 1. He is the smaller guy in the pic. Perhaps, some of your remember a few years back that I fell in love with a boy from here and almost moved here. He did not work at the saunas when I was here the second time and I had to have my hotel call him and come meet me each day. He was special and I just simply adored him. I had tried to call him when I got to Rio but his phone was dead. I did not think I’d ever see him again. As I walked into 117, there he was. I was shocked to see him as I thought he had a job driving a motorcycle. He said it was taken from him at gunpoint last year and has been working again for many months. He hates it there but he needs the money. He spends 2 hours in a bus to get to the sauna. Naturally, I had to see him so we went upstairs. It was great and I had a fabulous time. I guess the love has gone in the years that have passed as he really pissed me off last year when I spent over 1500 US on a ticket for him to Carnival and he was late and never showed so I got Jefferson to call one of his friends to go with us. Needless to say, I never spoke to him again until today. I have forgiven him for his blunder but the feelings have moved on and I was able to have great sex without the attachment I had before. When I was here before, he would always just put on his clothes as he know he would spend the night in my hotel. Today he asked but I told him I had to work. Liar Liar pants on fire! I met the store clerk down in my lobby after his work and my programa. He had a car and he took off. I thought we were going to eat at a restaurant but instead he took me to his home. Well, not just his home but also the home of his family. Here I was with a group of 8 Brazilians. They were middle class and had a nice apartment in Barra. The food was great and he was the interpreter. His younger brother and sister attempted their English skills on me and I felt like the center of attention. He also liked to have his American date with him. Frankly, I would be embarrassed to have any American over to my family’s with all the shit the USA has pulled in this administration but that is a story for another day. The dinner was fun and totally unexpected. He drove me back to my hotel and he came up for a nightcap. We made out for a long time and fooled around. But, he said sex was for another day and wants to see me tomorrow for lunch when he gets his break and I’ll go over and take him to the local café for a bit to eat. He is adorable. He is 28 years old and short and handsome. Since I have not been to a middle class home in Rio it was nice to see one and I had a very nice evening. One thing I did learn today is that as soon as many boys move on from the sauna, there are just as many waiting at the door for an entrance. The place was packed with twinks and muscle for every taste. There were at least 10 that I would love to have been with and Marc Anthony would have been in Heaven today with all the white Brazilian twinks. I was really intrigued by a few and hope they return on another day. The city is really mellow in the rain. No one roaming the streets. No one on the beach. Few at the mall. It seemed like all had gone on holiday until I entered 117. At least I know where all the boys went.
  9. You were right on that point. One guy recognized me and told all the others. I could see the signs from grande to small and he told the story to all. I had guys approach me telling me I looked great and they remembered me. I had never met them but it was fun to see the commotion.
  10. The insurgency in southern Thailand is turning into a brutal armed conflict where the majority of victims are civilians, a leading rights group said. Separatists intent on establishing an Islamic state are attacking civilians and schools, Human Rights Watch said. The militants believe up to five more years of violence are needed before they are strong enough to negotiate with the government, the group said. Violence in the region has killed almost 2,500 people since 2004. Over the years there has been periodic unrest in the Muslim-majority provinces of Yala, Narathiwat, Songkhla and Pattani, annexed by Thailand a century ago. But in January 2004, a raid on an army depot marked the start of a new level of insurgency. According to the report, entitled "No One is Safe: Insurgent Attacks on Civilians in Thailand's Southern Border Provinces", militants have been orchestrating a "broad campaign of violence and fear". In the period between January 2004 and July 2007, they carried out more than 3,000 attacks on civilians, the group said, compared to about 500 attacks each on police and military units. In that period, 2,463 people were killed, 89% of whom were civilians, the report said. Monks are also being targeted in a bid by the militants to end what they call a Buddhist Thai occupation, the group said. "Separatist militants are intentionally targeting both Buddhist and Muslim civilians in shootings, bombings and machete attacks," said Brad Adams, Asia director for Human Rights Watch. "Violence against civilians is being used by separatist militants to scare Buddhist Thais away from these provinces, keep ethnic Malay Muslims under control, and discredit the Thai authorities," he said. The report identifies the insurgents as village-based militants called Pattani Freedom Fighters, who have formed a loose network called National Revolution Front-Co-ordinate. Members have told Human Rights Watch representatives that "they are not interested in dialogue with the Thai authorities at present", but that three to five more years of violence are needed before talks can take place. The Thai government has deployed more than 30,000 troops to the region. But they have been accused of rights violations such as extra-judicial killings and arbitrary arrests. Human Rights Watch said it remained unclear what action the government would take "to end state-sanctioned abuses and the culture of impunity in the south". The group called on both the militants and the Thai government to institute concrete measures to protect civilians. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/6966629.stm
  11. Thanks Lookin. I appreciate it. I was actually there last night but could not find the hot spot forums. I played more today and found them. I found the answer to my question, and now know that Club 117 is not open on Mondays. That was what I wanted to know. I tried my old log in for the site but it didn't work. I'll send them an e-mail to get it updated. Thanks for the information.
  12. http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/08/28/cra...rest/index.html CNN also had a good story. I just wonder who made these signals? No one told me. Now that I know, I'll have to spend more time tapping my foot.
  13. Yeah, right! LOL I did find it fun as the people at the hotel who always knew me were shocked. Then, at the sauna, the boys who I have had sex with and knew me as a money train did not recognize me. One boy I was with about 20 times and sat next to me and we talked for a bit and finally he asked if we had met before and I told him yes, at 117. He said it was not him as he does not work there. I said I knew him before he said no as he only works at Pointe. I said 1 1/2 year ago and he looked and looked and said, "I don't remember." Now, mind you I like to take it that I have lost so much weight that he doesn't remember the face. But, most likely, I was so unmemorable, I must have not made a good impression. TY, as for the balls comment: Martina always had them bigger than anyone. She was a powerhouse and still today, she is amazing to see. And, I bet you one thing: She was not hitting things out just to watch the ball boys run after them.
  14. What is the url for Trilingual's website? I have tried to find it but no success. I did go to gaytravelbrazil.com and the forums were there but no postings. Is that the same site? What happened to all the posts?
  15. Just wanted to let those of you who never read down the forums to know that I am posting my experiences (no matter how boring) in the Latin America forum. Comments, criticisms, and all other posting appreciated.
  16. Day 1 in Rio First, I was not sure if Club 117 was open or closed on Monday so I spent the day at my hotel. I went swimming and had a massage by the pool. I also had a tennis lesson. I really sucked at it and I know I’ll never me a Martina Navratilova but I had a good time watching the ball boys they hired to get the balls I hit out of bounds. I am not really sure if I enjoyed the playing as much as I did the games with the ball boys. But, I may try again. After a long series of flights (over 27 hours) and delay and delay and missed airport, etc, I was tried and did not want a long day. I really relaxed around the hotel and had a fun afternoon. But, around 5 or so I got horny and knew I had to go into the big city. I went to Pointe 202. I got there shortly after 6 and the place was just about dead. There were few people there but as the night went on, more came into the place. There were so many sexy boys and nice Asses; I didn’t know what to do. What I really love about the boys here is most are versatile or will be for the right price. There was this hot muscle stud that I really wanted and he was totally versatile and said I could fuck him all night if I wanted. Well, that intrigued me. But, I had my eye set on another guy and it took us a few hours of playing eyes before he agreed to see me. He was not a sauna boy. He was there with friends and not in a towel. I guess the mystery of what lies beneath the clothes may have worked its magic on me. He did not want his friends to see us get a room so he did it very discreetly and I had to meet him upstairs. Once I walked into the room, he started kissing me very passionately and the tongue was all over me. I was in Heaven. I also came right there. But, we did move to the bed and played there for a bit. After I came, we showered together and I went into my wallet to give him money and looked puzzled. I am not sure if I was a cheap Charlie or he was not expecting anything. I still don’t know the answer to that question. I think rates are still the same here as they were when I was last here. Isn’t 50R the asking rate? I gave him 100R. Perhaps I gave too little or too much. I am not sure. But, I had a hell of a night. Pointe 202 has been remodeled since I was last there. The stage is moved around to the other side, they have new floors and the place is cleaned up more. The bar area is in a new place. With all this construction, I am not sure why they didn’t redo the lockers but I guess that is the fag in me wanting to decorate. My guy tonight is versatile and gay. He was not the muscle boy I had in mind when I went but I guess the Marc Anthony rubbed off on me and I had to try a twink. LOL A good first night in Rio!

I was at an airport today (actually yesterday) and at the urinal next to me stepped this giant. He looked just like Coby Bryant. He was hot! Tall, black and beautiful. God had also blessed him in doubly if you know what I mean. Anyway, I went to my plant area and he was there. He sat a few seats down from me. I tried to make small talk and ask where he was going and he said Ft. Lauderdale. All attempts at conversation fell on dead ears. This homeboy was not going to be hit on my some faggy queen. I got a call on my Iphone and answered it. When finished, he asked if that was the Iphone and I said yes and he wanted to see it. He was suddenly in the seat next to me and I showed him all the features. We chatted for about 40 min and he was very comfortable. I told him he was VERY tall and he said yes, he played basketball in college. I then told him God had blessed him in so many ways with an evil smile. He smiled and said yes. We both laughed. He is 18 and almost 19 and has been in the Air Force for almost a year. He was very nice once the eye phone came out. That is the end of the story. No sex. No numbers exchanged. But, I did get to see the personality behind that huge cock and it was much sweeter and mellow than his cock was, which looked agressive and mean. The Iphone broke the ice for me. If I had thought of it, I would have asked him to borrow the Iphone and take a few pictures of himself. Maybe next time.
  18. LOL. Yes, you and TY had me pegged. I didn't actually book the ticket till the night before. I showed up at my hotel and they didn't even know I was coming. Since I booked for a long stay, they were a bit shocked. Luckily, they were able to accommondate me. They did put me in a room with the kitchen help, but that was always my favorite room anyway.
  19. What I meant to say was, I have NO intent to fly to Brazil anytime soon unless on a Sunday in August. Well, the last one passed. Thankfully, I arrived safely today and am relaxing in my hotel room. LOL Does anyone know if Club 117 is open on Mondays?
  20. LOL I have NO intent on going to Brazil anytime soon. That is the last place I want to be right now. The dollar sucks and it is 1.9 to one dollar. I remember when it was 3.8. What a fucking mess. No way in hell I'll end up there anytime soon.
  21. Here are just a few of the reasons I love Brazil. There are soooo many more! Oz
  22. Last night I saw the new move Resurecting the Champ. It is about a sports writer who rescues a homeless man who just happens to be a boxing fighter who most thought had been dead for 20 years. The movie was very well done and both Samuel Jackson and Josh Hartnett are great in their perspective roles. If you have a chance, take a night off and see this movie. It is worth your time and energy. Samuel L. Jackson, Josh Hartnett, Kathryn Morris, Alan Alda, Teri Hatcher
  23. Rumors are abuzz in the USA and right now I am in a very Cuban community in NYC. The news is that Castro is dead. No major news agency has reported this officially but if you do a google on Castro you will see many fast breaking stories. When he dies, I wonder how long it will take those that love the Latin guys to pounce on the city. I have tons of friends who go there on a regular basis and who also love Thailand. Once the doors are open to Americans, I wonder what the place will be like. There are many gay boys there for pay and the new influx of tourists may make the cities more like Pattaya. haha Well, not like Pattaya, but more like the saunas in Rio.
  24. There are tons of news reports about this right now. Just google Castro and you will see the hints that many think he has died. I just got off the phone with a journalist from the New York Times who has been a good friend since law school and they are on top of the story but they don't know anything official at all. Speculation is afoot but nothing is yet released.
  25. At the fitness camp I was at recently, they only had Stevia as a sweetner for the Green Tea. They did not offer any of the other stuff. They were mostly a vegetarian place and they really believed in whole natural foods. I asked for some last night at a Hyatt I was at and they didn't know what it was. I guess it is not too popular.
