Not sure that's right. The bars make an ENORMOUS amount of money on drinks. A small bottle of Singh beer is about 45 Bt in 7/11 and they sell drinks for 450 to 500 Bt in some bars. Regarding the 1200 off fee. It only takes 2 guys to refuse to pay the 1200 and the next guy to accept...then they have made the 1200 they wanted in the first place!

Ate this evening in a large Jomtien Complex restaurant. You wouldn’t know it was a Buddha weekend!

Went to Boyztown this evening and ate at the Am***** Hotel. Very good and enjoyed quite a few drinks. Presumably rules for a Hotel. Ahem.! Shhhh... say no more!!

Ive never heard of this off fee for cum. Is it new? What happens when a customer has several boys cum? Could really mount up if you are expected to tip the boy as well.

That's exactly the way to deal with them...if you do have to go to these awful places in the first instance.

How can it? Its the middle of the low season. On the other hand I do not think bars advertise that they are going through hard times. As with most closures you will only hear it after the event.

I was there at the same time. Yes it was deserted both of boys and customers. I put it down to the road works in Boyztown which must have put off many customers from venturing down the Soi and into the place. What surprises me is that all the bars, except Oscars, continued to survive. As the construction work has long finished I hope all the bars can now get back on their feet (even tho its now low season) and good luck to Cupidol for lasting out.

Correct beers are 100 Bt each, but you get the odd free one from the owner, so I don't mind. In my opinion one of the better bars in Sunee and they don't close before 3, often far later!

Hanan ...that post above is misleading. It refers to 2007! Yes Sansuk is now 230 Baht, for everybody. And yes it is often deserted nowadays.

its Songkran month. Bars close, boys go home, customers take cover...not a week. or month. to make such a statement!

Spoon, the Grand Palace is open again. KhaoSan Road was a bit of a disappointment for me. Sorry I cannot answer the other questions!
