The elevator is the way to go for your exit but the walk down is spectacular if anyone gets the opportunity. Also in that section of the Southwest of the USA is the Grand Canyon which really is grand but no elevator in or out.

Carlsbad Caverns is one of the places that Kokopelli has visited on several occasions. As you enter and descend by foot into this cavern you think you are entering the bowels of hell. The large chamber is truly huge but there are several smaller chambers with fantastic formations. This is one place not to be missed. And, if you are a true believer, you can visit nearby Roswell, New Mexico the Mecca of the UFOers.

As for registering with one's real name, just use a pen name. Who is going to know the difference? The same for a birth date. Whoever the new owner/mod is, it seems he is a Brit judging from the info on the registration form.. At least he is not asking for a poster's dick size as is asked when registering on this forum.

Also keep in mind that not all Arabs are Muslims. In Lebanon, for example, there is a large population of Christian Arabs who do speak Arabic but also French and English.

Speaking of Baht-Stop, I see that two of their notorious posters are back at it, posting pro/anti Israel/Palestine rhetoric on two of the other gay Thailand forums, Sawatdee and TingTong. Hopefully GayThailand will be spared.

It seems no one is going to be lucky and find that other iconic image! It is a swastika which at one time was considered lucky. Christian's post illustrates that what is iconic to an educated American is not iconic to a European or perhaps any other nationality and vice-versa. However I think the Coke Logo is well known worldwide. The "explosion" is of a thermonulear weapon/H-Bomb in the Pacific Ocean. I do agree that the photo of the A bomb over Hiroshima is even more iconic. Here is another suggestion but not sure if this is known to many other nationalities.

I hope such a merger will never happen. The moderation of the various boards is so diverse that any merger would be a disaster. Hopefully Baht Stop will reappear as it did serve the needs of a certain group of posters and was much different than the other forums. Some of their posters, such as Dolly, were excellent to just name one. Hopefully Dolly and a few others will come to Gaythailand if and when. Ting Tong is a basketcase due to the multitude of subforums which the owner/mod seems to desire.

Apparently some of these planes are so automated that it is difficult to fly them manually although possible. I saw an interview with Capt. Sully Sullenberger who ditched his aircraft in the Hudson River in New York City. He could not understand how the pilots on the Air France flight screwed up so badly but did state that flying an airplane without automatic controls was a challenge.

I have accounts at Bangkok Bank and Kasikorn and both refused me internet banking as I did not have a retirement visa. I will try another branch to see their response. My guess is they will tell me to ask at the branch where I opened my account. International wire transfers are an option if one has adequate funds prior to arriving to finance their stay and not have to rely on pensions, social security, paychecks, etc which are deposited to your home bank's account on a monthly basis. The same coud be said about periodic stipends to bfs; if one could do a large wire transfer to a Thai bank and then feed the bf from that account it would save on other means of providing funds to him. It all depends on one's financial situation and internet banking. But, yes, a good idea to have a Thai bank account if one intends to visit Thailand on a regular basis.

Although I do have a Thai bank account getting internet banking is not a simple matter unless one has a retirement visa, at least according to my experiences. International wire transfers from a foreign country to a Thai bank may cost about $50 USD which might negate any benefits benefits of using a foreign ATM card for the casual visitor.

Wino, a graduate of the wine institute of New Orleans. Yes, wino in a friendly fashion, someone who enjoys a glass of wine. I was going to write "oenophile" but it sounded like a dirty word or an illegal activity. I know there are a number of Kiwis on other forums but Koko doesn't post on those forums.

It seems not many Kiwis or Winos on this forum? I like Pinot Noir and checked out price for Bannockburn which was about 50 NZD; too high for my budget. I once bought an inexpensive NZ Pinot Noir and it was dreadful but their Sauvignon Blancs have always been good. I guese you get what you pay for?

Does anyone have personal knowledge of any NZ wines that are available in New Zealand? A Kiwi friend will purchase and bring me some wines to Thailand if I give him the brand names. Looking for reds or whites in price range of 10-20 NZD. Also has anyone experience with bringing wine into Thailand? I know the official limit is 1Liter although I often bring 2 - .75L bottles. I have never been stopped at Customs but I do see Asians with a lot of baggage being stopped and have their luggaged x-rayed.
