Take him to Bangkok Pattaya. They do it and give a report to the person taking the test.  If you both get the test, then you can both show each other the results. They will also allow you both to sit in on the results.  It is a quick test and cost less than 30 USD I think. 

Id still be safe, though. There is still a certain amount of time between when you have it and when it will show up. Plus all the other stds you could get. But that's just me. I'm always safe.

So, just out of interest then ......this boy of your dreams.....so, if he ( or you) test positive for Hiv or many of the other STI's floating around Pattaya I take it you'll still be staying with each other - as he is the boy of your dreams after all and I'm sure if you're the older richer farang you'll be the man of his ?

I met him on Hornet and he is a student in Bangkok. He is from a fairly well-off family I gather, since there is a family automobile and a home that the entire family still lives in. He is a 20 year old and admits to one romance with a German that has now ended.. after scouring Hornet for over a month this one is definitely different... English is fantastic... we talk over the phone a lot.. I admit he has changed my entire vacation plans. if you could get a look at the private photos that he has sent me, all the warnings in the world of what could go wrong would be ignored. That's why I at least want some kind of test before I dive in Head Over Heels...ps.. and wouldn't you know it his family is from Issan.. why are most of the gorgeous ones from that area?

Short answer ..... play safe and use condoms .... then you do not have to embarrass each other sharing test results .... keep in mind issues that will arise if one of you turns out "positive".

I'm not sure but I guess this is similar to a pre-nup health screening that is becoming more and more popular all over the world, and in some countries a mandatory requirement.  If one or both parties have a serious medical issue then perhaps a review of the relationship might be in order?  Not an easy question to answer and depends on the couple concerned, their circumstances, financial situation, degree of commitment, etc.  Whatever they decide is really not a matter for me to judge as they know best how to cope (or not) with any challenges to their relationship.

 

P.S.  Instead of just a HIV test, the OP might want to do a health screening package for couples.  Enquire with some of the private hospitals.

 Love and infatuation used to create relationships but it seems to be replaced by positive results of health screening for couples. What's next? allergy test for each others sweat?

In Bangkok, go to www.sathornclinic.com, small clinic in Soi Suan Phlu, just opposite of Soi 8. This is a good place for a gay couple as it is owned and run by a gay doctor, thus specializing in "gay medicine" including HIV and all other STDs. The doctor is young and a very nice guy (and in fact very cute and sexy lol). 

Have fun, play safe. Whether it ends being true love, a holiday fling or a one night special, I'd start off playing safe as HIV and other tests all have various incubation times before they will show in a test.

Some good news for anybody interested... I finally got the courage to ask him if we could go to a Clinic and get tested and he agreed right away. So that problem is solved and he also wants me to meet his mother... That's what really gets me nervous haha

I have no false illusions here..I am basically looking for a short boyfriend experience...I am almost 40 years older and I'm not naive about what goes on in a 20 year olds brain..
